PGH Peach Games Day 2 Standouts

Peach Jam Day 2 kicked off with standout performances right from the start. From games going into overtime to players dropping 30 pieces and 25 rebounds. The talent on display came from the guards and posts. There was excitement and energy in all four gyms. It was so many top performances but here are the players that stood out on Day 2. Strong can do it all. She has had an impressive tournament so far. In her first game on the day, she went for 28 points and 25 plus rebounds. A dominating performance on the offensive and defensive end. A player that bangs inside on the block but also step out and consistently hit the 3. Has the ability to put it on the floor from the high post and score at the rim. A great defender that can guard inside/out. A matchup problem for post players and guards. High IQ player that gets better every time she steps on the floor. A guard that can rebound well for her size. Loved her ability to slash through the defense with the dribble drive and kick. Always keeping her head on swivel so she sees her opponents posting up or running the lanes. Knows how to use her body to create the contact and get to the free throw line where she is automatic. When you take away the drive to the basket, she showed her ability to hit the floater or pull up jumper. She does everything with precision and knows how to make you pay if you cheat on defense. Off the dribble drive she is always the one cutting back door or setting solid screens to get easy baskets. She can score at all 3 levels which requires you to respect her for the 3 ball or the drive to the basket. Crashes the boards hard and knows how to finish in traffic. Always going downhill with a full head of steam which makes her defender think twice about stepping in front of her on the drive. A player that can get to the basket at will and consistently finishes at the rim. When her team needed a basket, they knew to give it to her and clear out. She has one of the quickest releases and can consistently shoot the 3 ball. A player that can slash to the basket, hit the pull up jump shot or shot the 3 ball. You always have to play her straight up as she is a walking bucket. Her size allows her to shoot over smaller defenders but her speed allows her to get around the bigger defenders. Plays with tons of emotion. A player that is not afraid to celebrate and flex when she makes a tough shot which makes it exciting to watch. She applies the pressure to her opponents which allows her to get steals in the back court which leads to easy layups. Reed recorded 16 points and 7 steals in one game. A pure shooter that does not need much room to get her shot off. If you push her off the 3 point line she has the ability to get to the rim. Once at the free line she is automatic. Knows how to absorb the contact and finish. Her confidence in her ball handling allows her to break down the defense. She makes it hard to trap her because of how well she handles the basketball. Always has a counter move which allows her to get by her defenders and score at the rim. Floor General with great court vision. A player that does everything 100% which makes it hard for the defense to contain her with her ability to get downhill quickly off the screens. A player that can also knock down the outside shot.
