We had the opportunity to see all the athletes showcase their talents and leave it all on the court on Championship Sunday. Here were the players that stood out for me on Sunday.
Sarah Ezell I 6’1 I SF I 2024 I FCA Eagles 2024
Ezell showed her ability to score at will against anyone that was guarding her all weekend. She always knows how to find the soft spot in the defense to get her shot off. A player that crashes the boards hard on both ends of the floor. When the defense clogs up the paint she can step out and hit the short corner jump shot. She is automatic from the free throw line. A game changer.
Cameryn Ridderikhoff I 5’9 I Wing I 2025 I Richmond Heat 2025
A playmaker that doesn’t hesitate to score. A player that can score at all 3 levels which make it tough to guard her. Has such a quick release and is always moving without the ball. If the defense takes away her outside shot she uses her length to get to basket. A player that creates a lot of deflections with her ability to get out in the passing lanes. 2 way player that is not afraid to get up and defend.
Julianna Frazee I 6’2 I C I 2025 I Richmond Heat 2025
Frazee is a walking bucket. She showed her opponents how tough it is to guard her in the paint. Knows how to pin her defenders deep which make it easy for her to score at the rim. Tough to box her out as she always has great positioning on defense and offense. A post player that runs rim to rim which creates easy scoring opportunities. Also has a soft touch around the rim. Double-Double.
Jenna Cothran Jenna Cothran 5'6" | SG Dorman | 2024 State SC I 5’6 I SG I 2024 I FCA Eagles 2024
Cothran scorched the nets all weekend but had an awesome shooting performance on Day 2. She always knows how to find her spots behind the arc. A player that has range for days as she does not need much space to get off her shot. Always working to get open and keeps her opponents on their heels.
Imari Humphrey Imari Humphrey 5'10" | SF Spring Valley | 2024 SC I 5’10 I PF I 2024 I Alabama Twisters 2024
Humphrey knows how to use her skills to her advantage. Her go to move is her ability to catch the ball at the high post and get to the basket. Knows how to use her body to absorb the contact and create and 1 opportunities. A player that if she catches it deep, she will finish at the rim. A nice over the shoulder turnaround.
Anastasia Gillam Anastasia Gillam 5'3" | PG JL Mann | 2027 State SC I 5’1 I PG I 2027 I Greenwood Storm 2026
Gillam is a play maker that wants to have the ball in her hands at all times. When her team needed a bucket down the stretch, she was the go-to player. A player that plays with a ton of energy which her teammates feed off. Has the ability to score every time the ball is in her hands. Knows how to get to the basket and finish through contact but also has the ability to shoot the outside shot.
Kyndall Ellis I 5’8 I PG I 2026 I Florida Lady Aces 2024
Ellis is a player that it hard to believe is just leaving middle school. She is always playing downhill which makes it tough to keep her out of the paint. Has a one dribble delay that freezes her opponents which allows her to attack the basket. Knows how to use her body to make sure she gets her shot off in the paint. A player that sees a lot of time at the free throw where she is automatic. Gets better every time she touches the court.
Ava Jones Ava Jones 6'1" | C Holmes County | 2026 State FL I 6’1 I PF I 2026 I Miami Impact 2025
Jones was really impressive with her ability to get out and run rim to rim. Always has her head up and knows how to get to the block and score at will. A player that is always moving around in the paint to find a soft spot. She is a walking double-double. Once she gets position on the block, it’s hard to keep her from scoring. Knows how to catch it high and keep it high.
Jazlynn Williams I 5’3 I PG I 2023 I FGC Miracle Gold 2023
Williams is one of the most exciting players with the basketball. What stood out to me was how she communicates with her teammates on offense and defense. A player that knows how to get to the basket and finish. Also has the ability to pull up for the 3 ball in transition. High energy floor general that controls tempo for her team.
