Franklin has the size and strength needed to play at the next level, but she also has the skills. She made good moves down low and she has excellent touch around the rim. She does a really good job on the glass and she stays with it if there’s any chance of her coming up with the rebound. She also moves her feet well and runs the floor.
Alivia Morris Alivia Morris 5'8" | SF Nelson County | 2025 State KY | 5’8″ | Class of 2025 | OTP 2024 Owsley
Morris plays much bigger than she is and that’s not to say she doesn’t have great size and length because she does. It just is a testimony to how hard she plays. She utilizes fakes to perfection. She can elevate over defenders and score with a hand in her face. She can also finish with contact. She has a number of solid post moves in her bag, but she can also score off of the dribble or through her outside shooting abilities.
Kyra Freeman | 5’8″ | Class of 2024 | Kentucky ICE 16U
Freeman really plays every position, but I feel like she needed to be included on this list because she did a great job in the times she was playing more of a post position. She has great length and she really uses that length well on the defensive end. She comes up with a lot of blocks, steals, and rebounds. She did a great job of catching at the free throw line and making good decisions. When she got to the rim, she did a great job of finishing with contact. She also distributed the ball well.
Aniyah Mckenzie | 5’11″ | Class of 2026 | Indiana Blaze 16U
Mckenzie has excellent strength, but to find out she is only in the 8th grade, her strength is unreal. She made some really good posts moves and she finished strong at the rim on a consistent basis. She also made some really impressive moves off of the dribble to get to the basket and she can start her drives from anywhere on the floor. Her rebounding and passing skills were also top-tier.
Khania Jones Khania Jones 5'9" | SF George Rogers Clark | 2025 State KY | 5’10″ | Class of 2025 | Team Firstep 2024
Jones has good strength and is extremely athletic. She can fly to deflect passes or get steals, and she also made some fantastic blocks. Jones had some great finishes around the rim and she is a great rebounder. The way she could manipulate her body around the rim to give herself a better look at the basket was also impressive.
Loria Snowden Loria Snowden 6'2" | C Brownsburg | 2024 IN | 6’1″ | Class of 2024 | IN Showcase 2024 Red
Snowden is one of the strongest players I got the chance to watch. If you want to take the ball from her, she is not going to make that an easy task. She has good post moves and she posts up strong. She draws a lot of fouls and she is a good free throw shooter. Snowden also showcased her ability to force the defense to stretch by knocking down some outside shots.
Kylee Bruce Kylee Bruce 5'11" | SF Fairland | 2024 State OH | 5’11″ | Class of 2024 | OV Lady Dragons 2024 Red
Bruce has great hands and touch around the rim. She’s tough and she stays with it no matter what is thrown at her. She really just finds ways to put the ball in the basket down low, whether that is through contact, by making a move, or anything in between. She’s physical and strong, and she does all of the little things. She plays great defense, boxes out strong, and comes up with a lot of rebounds.
Kylie Huber | 5’9″ | Class of 2024 | Kentucky ICE 2024
Huber gives 110% when she’s on the floor. She works extremely hard and it shines when she’s out there. Defensively, she puts herself in good positions, stays straight up, and reads the passing lanes well. Offensively, she can finish well around the rim, including directly off of the catch. She did a great job on the boards as well.
