The Sports Academy teams are now affiliated with Cal Swish/GBL and they are playing their teams on the NIKE EYBL circuit. We were in attendance to watch a few teams this weekend and this is what we took from it, evaluations of girls on these teams and how they performed on the court in front of scouts. These will be really enjoyable, because we got a lot of content and this is Part 2 of 3.

Why Not Premier
:
2023, 5’4, PG, Mater Dei HS, Caia Elisaldez Caia Elisaldez 5'5" | PG Mater Dei HS | 2023 State CA – Caia is a solid point guard that has a good understanding of the game, she has improved on her body type, she is solid and strong, quick and slippery on the court. Her handles are nice and she knows how to get the ball to her teammates or get a bucket herself, which we really love in her game skillset. She shoots the ball pretty good from the perimeter, can get to the rim and finish thru contact and she is an aggressive defender on the floor. This kid plays on the big stage all of the time so most of this is not a surprise to us, we have watched her since she was an 8th grader and we will continue to watch her improve. Have not heard anything about offers yet from her, but I would believe College Coaches are on her and it is for good reason.
2024, 6’1, C, Niya Price Niya Price 6'1" | C State CA – Niya is a dog in the paint for her team, we saw this kid play against older girls and eat up the boards like they were not even standing there. She can run the floor with ease and finish in transition and she is equally capable of sealing her opponent and finishing over both the left and right shoulders in the paint. She is a terror cutting to the basket for scores and sets some good screens for her teammates and can slip if opportunity presents itself. Defensively she can improve, but all youngsters have that issue, she needs to know when to hedge the screen or charge the guard in the trap and get back to her position. Player in our book, coaches should already be looking at her.
2023, 6’1, SF, Etiwanda HS, Sa’ Lah Hemingway – Hemingway has good size and is able to play multiple positions. She can play inside as a four or even at center, and she can move like a wing. She can handle the ball on the perimeter and she can attack the rim off the dribble. Comfortable creating her own shot. She’s a very good rebounder especially on the offensive end getting second shot opportunities. Sets good screens.
2023, 6’2, C/PF, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Meadow Roland Meadow Roland 6'2" | C San Joaquin Memorial | 2023 State CA – Meadow is always impressive and she plays the game with a reckless abandonment in the good since, she is long, agile, athletic and is one of the hardest working players I know. She is always active on the boards, she is running the floor to get a transition bucket or a nice dime to one of her teammates, this is normal for this athlete. She has great size and uses it well, she can rebound and push the break, but one thing she does is gets the ball advanced up the floor and then gets into the lane for her teammates. She can score with the best of them and she is dynamic on her finishes at the rim, she might have enough hops to dunk the ball, but I do not think she has even tried before. This kid is major and any coach not looking is a FOOL, just my opinion, you can quote me on that….
