Continue ReadingIt is that time of the year again, when PGHoops California gets to add some worthy athletes to the Rankings list and explain why we are doing it in the evaluations. We seen these girls with our own eyes and wanted to share our evaluations with our audience and see what you think about it. I will also be putting out a rankings poll later this month to see who we missed and get the followers opinion on the girls we have on the list. Remember, rankings are an opinion from the scout, does not mean this is the TRUTH and only truth, it our opinion on what we saw from the athlete in question. Give us a read and enjoy our content, we are SIMPLE, talk about the players and let the coaches know who they should be recruiting at any level. Hannah Vela Hannah Vela 5'5" | PG Mater Dei | 2023 State CA – Vela stood out as a solid floor leader/point guard. She’s incredibly quick with the ball in her hands. She’s looking to get out in transition each chance she gets. She keeps her head up and kicks the ball ahead with good outlet passes. She doesn’t need a screen to get past the defense, does a good job at drawing contact at the rim and getting to tech free throw line.
Queen Ruffin – Ruffin stood out to me as a knockdown shooter. In the game I saw, she was solid in moving without the ball and getting herself open. Very good catch and shoot player. She steps into her shot well and has a quick release. She can shoot coming off the screen as well. She handles the ball well and is a good pick and roll player hitting the roller with good passes.
Aaliyah Johnson Aaliyah Johnson 5'6" | SG Inderkum | 2023 State CA – dynamic guard with great agility and the confidence is thru the roof as we watch her play for her team. She is a capable ball handler, run the team and executes for her coaches and was a pretty speedy guard that could get up and down the floor and keep her opponents on their toes. She can score from all three levels on the floor and was pretty decent defender as we watched her play, she will added to rankings for the 2023 class for sure, we have now put eyes on her.
Nicole Chuang Nicole Chuang 5'8" | CG West Torrance | 2023 State CA – Chuang is a player I’ve seen before and what had stood out then was her scoring ability. This time around, it’s evident she’s been working on being a facilitator. In the game I saw, she took on a playmaking role reading the defense and understanding where the next pass should go. She sees corner shooters from the middle of the floor. She’s able to make some difficult passes. Very good ball handler. Defensively she uses her length to get in the passing lanes and get deflections.
Emily Lim Emily Lim 5'10" | CG Camarillo | 2023 State CA – Lim has to be one of the best shooters in the area. She actually has good size and can play in the paint a little bit, she is decent rebounder and can finish strong at the rim. But her major strength is her shooting. She’s an absolute sniper from three-point range and she has a quick release to get off her shot before the defense can close out on her. Has unlimited range and can’t be left open. Can step in and shoot in the midrange too.
Siyanda Salter Siyanda Salter 6'2" | PF Fairmont Prep | 2023 State CA –
