James Madison HS was one of several venues for the Dan Olsen Select 60. There was a lot of talent with some of the younger age groups competing against each other. Here are some that impressed during the day.
Genesis Schn Genesis Schn 6'0" | PF Sidwell Friends | 2026 MD – 6’0″ – PF – Fairfax Stars – 2026
Genesis has the strength and frame of a rising senior as opposed to a rising freshman. She is physical inside and uses her body well when attacking. She scored most of her points at the line drawing contact around the rim. She has a good mid-range shot and the form is there to expand beyond the arc.
Bailey Harris Bailey Harris 5'10" | CG St. Mary's | 2026 State MD – 5’10 – Combo Guard – Maryland Shooting Stars – 2026
Bailey’s 38-point performance topped off by the game winning bucket was the highlight of the weekend. She showed that she can score from everywhere on the floor regardless of whether or not the defense is geared to stop her. She passes well out of the double team and as teammates knock down the open shots she will get more one on one opportunities.
Vanessa Harris – 5’8″ – Combo Guard – Team Takeover – 2025
Vanessa has a quick first step that gets her past defenders even when they are in perfect position. She has shown her ability to knock down the three during the high school season and putting it together with her ability to attack is going to make her a load to handle.
Zaila Avant’garde Zaila Avant’garde 5'9" | SF Home School | 2025 State MD – 5’8″ – Combo Wing – Germantown Lady Panthers – 2025
Zaila covered a lot of ground on the defensive end. The Panthers played much faster with her on the floor as her pace was a notch above most of the other players on the floor. She mixes it up in the paint on the offensive boards looking taller than her listed 5’8″ height.
Abigail Ward Abigail Ward 6'2" | C Howard | 2025 State MD – 5’7″ – Point Guard – Team Takeover – 2025
Theresa plays alongside all-American caliber players during the season, so we don’t get to see all that she is capable of. This weekend was an opportunity for her stock to soar. She was able to show off some high-level skill, executing pro level moves in transition traffic. As players graduate to college and she hits these elite camps I can see the national scene taking note of her ability.
Zvanna Mnyacka – 6’1″ – Wing – Team Final – 2025
Team Final has a gem in Zvanna. She has good length and timing to block shots. She is extremely athletic getting to the basket from the wing in one or two dribbles, she can also knock down the three. The DMV frequently plays against Pennsylvania and New Jersey area teams during the club and high school season, Zvanna will be a player that needs to be accounted for.
Raigan Mccalla – 5’8″ – Combo Guard – Team Takeover – 2025
Raigan can turn a defensive rebound into a breakaway layup. Once she takes off full sprint, she has defenders trying to chase her down. She is just as fast with the ball as without the ball and gets up to top speed in a couple of steps. She finishes on the run well gathering herself as she nears the rim.
