This team did an amazing job all summer on the PGH Circuit and should not be at all ashamed at bowing out to a team like Oklahoma Swift in the championship. They beat some really good teams on their way to the championship and showed that they most definitely belong in the conversation of the top teams in the midwestern United States.
No. 0 – Jadyn Buttery Jadyn Buttery 5'11" | SF Tahlequah | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’11″ – Tahlequah – One of my favorite players in the whole state, Jadyn is a no doubt college prospect. She is a tall, long guard who gives you absolutely 100% effort every single time out. In the championship game, she was everywhere, scoring numerous “and-1’s” and being the spark plug to set her team off on scoring runs that would keep them close for the majority of the game.
No. 1 – Ava Scott Ava Scott 5'8" | CG Oktaha | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’9″ – Oktaha – Speaking of hard-workers, Ava is a player with one of the highest motors on the entire Fusion squad. It all starts on the defensive end where she shows very quick hands and is just incredibly tenacious. Offensively, she is a well-rounded guard who has great vision and throws nice, crisp passes. She can also fill it up from long-range like much of this tremendous Fusion squad.
No. 4 – Annaston Brown Annaston Brown 5'10" | SF Tahlequah Sequoyah | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’9″ – Sequoyah – Annaston was the star of the tournament for me as far as Fusion was concerned and made the All-Tournament squad because of it. She is a big, tough guard who was lighting it up from behind the arc all weekend long. She plays very smart defense and clearly has a very high basketball IQ. Brown is a big-time college prospect.
No. 10 – Snowda Watie Snowda Watie 5'6" | PG Stilwell | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’4″ – Stilwell – Snowda is one of the best pure point guards in the state of Oklahoma and it is always a pleasure to watch her ply her trade on the court. The “wants it” factor is through the roof for Snowda as she does everything possible to will her team to a win and at times can even take over a game offensively with the handles to drive to the rim and finish amongst the bigs. She is a tremendous passer and reads defenses like a book. There is no doubt that Watie will be playing the point for some lucky college at the next level.
No. 12 – Elliot Geer Elliot Geer 5'6" | PG Grove | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’6″ – Grove – One of the most purely athletic players on this Fusion squad, Geer is relentless in her work ethic and physicality, despite being just 5’6″. She is incredibly strong and will not be pushed around by even the biggest guards. She defends well, with quick lateral movement, and has a plethora of ways to finish, especially in transition where she is very quick.
No. 21 – Ellee Bryant Ellee Bryant 5'6" | SG Inola | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’4″ – Wagoner – Another tremendously athletic player on this Fusion squad, Ellee goes hard from whistle to whistle and has to be an absolute nuisance for the other team. She is a good defender and when she decides to make a ball hers, it usually happens. Somehow this 5’4″ athlete can secure double-digit rebounds on a regular basis. She just outworks most people. Bryant can score from every level and is very fun to watch. She is a great athlete.
No. 23 – Miller Weast Miller Weast 5'7" | PG Inola | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 5’7″ – Inola – Speaking of great athletes — which seems to be a running theme on this Fusion squad — Miller is yet another outstanding athlete. She is long and strong and can defend pretty much every position on the floor. She can score from every level. She has a nice quick outside stroke and mid-range jumper to go along with some sneaky moves down low. She has very good bounce and closes out on shooters way quicker than even the shooters thought she could, resulting in a lot of blocked shots for Weast.
No. 25 – Kori Rainwater Kori Rainwater 6'1" | C Tahlequah | 2024 State OK – 2024 – 6’0″ – Tahlequah – Last and certainly not least is Kori, the main inside presence for one of the best teams in the state of Oklahoma. A long, tall, and very tough rebounder who is getting out of the high school habit of not relying on her size to secure rebounds, but also high-pointing the ball after boxing out. Kori is becoming an absolute force down low. Against Swift who have some tremendous bigs, Rainwater more than held her own and showed tremendous footwork and a high motor down low to rack up a lot of rebounds and a lot of points from putbacks.
