So, what makes a Prep Girls Hoops “GameChanger?” Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In an arena that was once home to the Kings and hosted one of “the King” Elvis Presley’s last concerts, there were plenty of superstars on the floor. Here are the ones who really stood out to this scout last weekend in Kansas City!
Kinlee Hill | 5-8 G | C4 Attack / Durant (OK) | 2023 | @KinleeHill1
C4 Attack ‘s games were almost “can’t miss” all weekend long because of some of the explosive players that they had and the one who really made the 2023 squad go was Kinlee Hill. She is a very smart, very confident point guard who truly runs the show for a very good team. She defends well in one-on-one situations and off the ball. Kinlee has tremendous handles and can make plays as needed, though her sweet passes are the real reason she made this list. She is great at getting everyone involved and her vision is next level. She definitely has the size and ability to play college basketball. This kid is most definitely a prospect.
Maya Dodson | 5-9 G | C4 Attack / Durant (OK) | 2024 | @MayaDodson5
A lot of the time during the grassroots season, I’ll see a good player and think to myself, “man, I really need to get a look at that high school team later this year.” But, after seeing C4 Attack play, I was telling myself that I absolutely HAVE to get to Durant this season to check out this amazing squad they have. We just talked about Kinlee Hill and now you add in Maya Dodson who is just a phenomenal slasher, just beyond almost any 2024 I saw in Kansas City. Durant must be one heck of a team because both C4 Attack teams definitely were. Maya is a true three-level scorer who also showed tremendous vision and the ability to thread the needle with some ridiculous passing. Her defense is almost on par with her offense and that is truly just scary. Maya Dodson is a big-time prospect!
Josie Megehee Josie Megehee 5'10" | CG Bethel | 2025 State OK | 5-9 PG | Oklahoma Lady Fusion / Bethel (OK) | 2025 | @josiemegehee
Megehee had a star turn this past weekend in Kansas City. She’s always been a good player, maybe even a great player, but in Kansas City, she really seemed to take that next step. She showed the ability to absolutely take over a game with her ability on both ends of the floor. She can get to the rim with ease using an explosive first step, outstanding handles, and some incredible bounce. She has a nice mid-range jumper and can hit the three consistently. She defends very well and definitely has the “wants it” factor that makes her stand out on every single possession for her team. She flashes into every play you watch. It’s no wonder that this 2025 already has her first offer. I have no doubt that there will be plenty more to come.
Logan Young Logan Young 5'9" | SF Dover | 2025 State AR | 5-9 F | Oklahoma Lady Fusion / Dover (AR) | 2025 | @LoganKYoung24
Logan has come onto the scene over the last few months and just lit things up. She is an explosive athlete who you can’t help but notice when she is on the floor. Young is in the middle of everything for her Fusion squad as she battles hard for every rebound, every loose ball, and every contested pass. She is in the middle of everything. The definition of a spark plug. Young can jump out of the gym and is unbelievably athletic. She scores mostly inside, but I have seen her hit free throws at a very high rate and she shows a great shooting stroke which makes me think she is most likely a true small forward who will eventually score in bunches. With her high motor and work rate, I have no doubt that her star turn is coming sooner rather than later and college coaches, you are going to want to be one of the first to be there. Trust me.
