Amelia Preston 2025 Tomball High School (Elite 365 Red)
Amelia is an aggressive forward who showed an ability to play on the perimeter, but also dominate on the interior. Where I was most impressed with her game was her ability to get past defender both in the open court and in the half court. Preston showed an ability to manipulate the defense out of the triple threat and through her face up game. She is a real force on the fast break, routinely coming down the court pushing the tempo and getting herself to the rim, or can act as the trailer and scream right down the middle of the court for an easy look on the inside. She showed an ability to move without the basketball and simply fill whatever space necessary for her team. She was calm out of the high post and on the block with her decision making.
On the defensive end of the floor, she has active hands that poke the ball free from her opponents time and time again, but also has the awareness to play the passing lanes. When she does this, and her opponents allow her to run the break, trouble usually ensues! She has a great motor, and dove after loose balls routinely, showing great determination going after the ball anytime she could. She has a slight hitch in her shot causing her to miss shots wide, even at the free throw line. I would like to see her tighten up her consistency with her jumper by working on her lead hand and keeping it more steady.
Zoe Dauer 2025 Tomball High School (Elite 365 Red)
Zoe is an impressive wing prospect with her ability to dominate on the interior, but also create for her teammates on the perimeter and dance around her opponents with a live dribble. I was very impressed with the ease in which she turned the corner on her opponents, routinely getting into the teeth of the defense with her handle. She made great decisions with the basketball in her hands, making the extra pass when necessary, or attacking a weak closeout and getting into the paint and finishing. She has a great touch on the interior, allowing her to finish over taller defenders with a floater, or go up strong against smaller guards. She hunts contact with her left side of her body, allowing her absorb the hit and finish in the paint. She lived at the free throw line with this method, and showed off her confidence and ability to slash, however I would like to see her work on her consistency with her left hand. I would also like to see her tighten up her shooting mechanics from the outside, at time she seems to use two hands to push her shot up.
Kania Chambers 2025 Woodlands High School (Elite 365 Red)
Kania is a consistent finisher down low, who specializes at turning the corner on her on ball defender and getting into the paint. Her ability to slash and draw multiple defenders makes her an aware combo guard prospect, and how she fills it up from the midrange should indicate she has some real scoring talent in her. She is an aggressive player on both ends of the court, mainly on the offensive side of things, chasing down her own rebound on a shot she knows she missed short and outworking her opponents every time she stepped on the court. I was very impressed at her motor and willingness to do all of the little things well, like rebound the ball and create opportunities for her team. I loved watching her manipulate the defense with her point guard instincts and how well she was able to initiate offense for her teammates, both in the full court and the half court. She routinely made the right pass, and loved finding her streaking teammates with the home run pass over the top. I would like to see her work on getting her handle tighter and lower, as well as hunting for her shot a bit more across the midrange.
Maddie Thorton 2025 Klein Cain High School (Elite 365 Red)
Maddie is an aggressive wing/power forward with her stout frame and her ability to handle the ball and play out of the high post. Her team can run their offense through her, she makes good decisions and smooth passes to find cutting teammates or find her shooters open on the backside of the court. Thorton showed an ability to attack the rim with a live dribble and finished at the rim at a very high level. I was very impressed by her natural ability to finish, even when she is going at her top speed and maneuvering around her defender. When she operates with her back to the basket, she attacks a one on one matchup with speed and decisiveness. She knows if she goes quick, the help defense cannot come and allows her to go up and finish in the paint. She even displayed a tight handle, and explosiveness out of the triple threat. She routinely turned the corner on her opponents and got them on her hip and then finished at the rim.
Kenley Hoot 2025 Tomball High School (Elite 365 Red)
Kenley is a lanky wing who can handle the ball on the perimeter and score off the bounce, but also use her frame to dominate down low. I was very impressed with how well she scored and hunted for her shots in the midrange, especially after attacking the basket and forcing them to cut off driving angles. On the defensive end of the court, she is a stout defender with an ability to reject shots on the interior but also clean the glass. Hoot is a great and willing rebounder for her position, which allows her team to run the fast break knowing she is down there to grab the ball and make the right outlet pass.
