Payton Acey Payton Acey 6'1" | PF Southwestern | 2024 State KY -Southwestern-PF/C
Payton Acey Payton Acey 6'1" | PF Southwestern | 2024 State KY was very productive for the Lady Warriors. She has good size and she used it well by being a disruptor in the paint making it hard for the opponents to score inside. Acey played with physicality and good offensive awareness allowing her to anticipate and gain leverage for offensive rebounds. She keeps the ball high which made it easy for her to get points off put-backs. Acey was effective scoring inside she displayed nice footwork with her post moves to finish with a nice baby hook shot.
Jessalyn Flynn-Southwestern-PG
Jessalyn Flynn was flying all over the place on defense, diving on the floor for loose balls getting tie up’s to help her team gain possessions. She was a true floor general making sure she sets the offense up to sustain the half-court style tempo coach Molden wants to run. Flynn facilitated the ball well to her teammates, she moved well without the ball coming off screens hitting mid-range jumpers.
Kennedy Stamper-GRC-PG
Kennedy Stamper is next up no doubt about it. She showed ferocious competitiveness on both ends of the court at KBC Classic. Stamper was automatic from long distance hitting dribble pull up threes and spot up threes. Her handles at just an 8th grader are some of the best I have seen. She has a mean hesitation move along with a killer crossover that made it easy for her to get to cup and score. Stamper will be a household name in Kentucky before you know it.
Brook Taylor-GRC-C
Brook Taylor was a force to be reckoned with in paint. Once she gathered good position down low she could not be stopped. She scored most her points off offensive put-backs and She has light feet for her size and she runs the floor well to get back on defense after made baskets. Taylor will be a good addition to the Byars sisters giving GRC one of best frontcourts in the 10th region.
Timari Miller-Henry Clay-G
Timari “T” Miller showed why she one of the best guard in the district. Every time I looked up Miller was finishing a lay up at the rim. When she gets a full head of steam driving to the hoop she is hard to stop. She loves to slash the lane and draw contact. Miller had several and one plays while capitalizing at the free throw line. She was consistent for the field making most of the shots she attempted. With Miller, Fields, and Sutton in the backcourt coach G’s up-tempo style offense will be hard to compete against once October comes around.
Mikalee Bennett-Frederick Douglass-CG
Bennett had some up the best defensive plays at the classic. She provided a good spark for being the defensive leader for the Lady Broncos. She had locked down defense and she enjoyed guarded the best players on court. Bennett has long arms and she used her length to her advantage blocking a lot of perimeter shots. She played hard and gave maximum effort on offense and defense.
