Kate Baker Kate Baker 5'4" | PG Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY has one of the quickest first steps in Kentucky. She easily blew by defenders, penetrating the lane to either use her patented floater or dish it out to an open teammate for the assist. Kate has a high-level Basketball IQ she knows how to anticipate a play before it even happens. She’s a true leader and that’s what you want out of your starting point guard. Baker has tremendous upside I expect big things from Kate this season.
Jamie Cowan Jamie Cowan 5'11" | PF Paris | 2023 State KY -Paris-F-5’11
Jamie Cowan Jamie Cowan 5'11" | PF Paris | 2023 State KY is a forward with guard abilities. She can bang down low with best of them and has enough lateral quickness to guard perimeter players as well. Cowan is a physical player she likes drawing contact when she drives in the lane. She’s can finish at the rim with either hand. Jamie can rebound at high rate and has the range to step out and hit open jump shots. With her and Brooklyn White Brooklyn White 6'0" | C Paris | 2024 State KY playing in the front court Paris will be hard to handle this season.
Sophie Brewer-Berea-F
Brewer is a versatile big who can make an impact on the court in a variety of ways. She’s great at scoring in the mid post has the ability to either shoot mid range shot or face up and drive to basketball. She has good size for a forward, she knows how to use her body to gain leverage for offensive and defensive rebounds. Sophia has plenty of time to develop her game she will be key factor for the Lady Pirates this season.
Sophia Gibson Sophia Gibson 6'4" | C Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY -Notre Dame-C
Sophia Gibson Sophia Gibson 6'4" | C Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY will be on a lot of college coaches radar by her junior year. At just a freshman with her height and wingspan she already has D1 prospect written all over her. Gibson is as disciplined and fundamentally sound as it gets for a young player. She walls up on defense and makes it difficulty to score over her inside. She blocks a lot shots and crashes the boards hard. She has solid post moves and can step out and shoot it as well. As her mechanics keep improving, Gibson will blossom into a double-double type player, she will be a top big in the 9th region this season.
Samantha Bottom-Danville-PG-5’6
Samantha Bottom was money three point line, it seemed like every shot she took went in. I have seen that type of consistent shot making ability in a live game situation in a while. Every time Coach Mason needed a bucket Bottom delivered. She plays hard nosed defense she not afraid to get scrappy I noticed hit the floor several times for a loose ball tie up. Samantha Bottom along with Love Mays gives the Lady Admirals one the best back courts in the 12th region.
Kelsie Hall-Scott County-SG
Kelsie Hall competes really hard, she plays with high energy and really provided that spark of intensity her team needed. Hall is a excellent set shooter she made a lot of shots from long distance along with mid range shots as well. She’s good at driving the land and finishing even with contact. Kelsie will be the second scoring option behind Maleiyah Moore Maleiyah Moore 5'8" | SG Scott County | 2025 State KY this season.
Payton Buckler-Lexington Christian-SG
Payton Buckler is solid a player on offense and defense, I like the way she watches the ball and not the player. This helped her cause multiple turnover with come up with several steals. Buckler was automatic from three she has a really quick release making it hard for any defender to contest her shot. I expect Payton to become a starter this year for the Lady Eagles.
