Among those were a number of New Jersey programs that you’ve heard us talk about plenty of times before. We’ve discussed some of the 16U programs and performances before, but in this article, we’ll be talking about prospects from the 17U Mountain Division.
Arliana Torres – PG/SG, Toms River North (2023)
Torres is quick with the basketball, one of the quickest players on the Jersey Gemz 17U Select squad. She’s great in transition with the basketball in her hand, looking confident and comfortable running the offense. Torres can also shoot the ball well and is a stellar defender, doing the little things right on the floor. She’s poised for a great senior season upcoming and has plenty of summer left to keep improving.
Tatianna Collins Tatianna Collins 5'9" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – 5-10 F, Hudson Catholic (2025)
Collins is playing up a few grade levels with upperclassmen this summer for United NJ’s 17U East team. She’s more than deserving of the challenge because her skillset right now is fantastic. Coming off a strong freshman year at Hudson Catholic, Collins has been striving to work on her defense and post presence, both of which have come a long way since the fall. She stays aggressive in the lane on both sides of the ball and is getting stronger by the day.
Christina Centeno – 5-7 G, Bayonne (2023)
A rising senior at Bayonne, Centeno made a major jump in her game during her junior year and that has transitioned well into the AAU season. What a three-point specialist she became and that’s exactly what she’s been working on thus far with United NJ’s 17U East team. She plays incredibly well off-ball, moving toward open looks on the perimeter and drains three-pointers with ease now.
Avery Jackson – 5-9 G, Ocean City (2023)
Jackson is another player who really burst on to the scene as a junior, the high school scene at least. She’s done a great job so far this AAU season as a transition shooter, a catch-and-shoot type player and a more dependable three-point shooter overall. That’s what she really excelled at best for the Red Raiders and we’re expecting her to continue that three-point prowess into the fall/winter.
Sienna Corey Sienna Corey 5'6" | PG Northern Highlands | 2024 State NJ – 5-7 G, Pascack Hills (2024)
A teammate of Jackson on United NJ’s 17U Diamond team, Corey has continued to be a reliable three-point shooter throughout the summer, getting a great feel for the shooting motion itself and looking much smoother overall. Repetition and consistency is the name of the game for a good three-point shooter, so the more in-game opportunities she gets this summer, the more opportunities she’ll have to improve consistently.
Nicole Miller – 5-10 WING/F, Shawnee (2023)
Miller is a great transition shooter and pulls up well from mid-range and can shoot the three with ease. She’s not overly reliant on the three, but has a great mixture of an offensive game, able to pick-and-choose her spots where she can be most successful. Her presence is most felt on that offensive end of the floor, but we’ve seen her focus more on her defense during AAU ball, which is only going to benefit her in the long run.
