It’s provided a platform for basketball players nationwide to showcase their skills and provide them with an opportunity to show college coaches and basketball scouts why they should be considered legitimate next level prospects. Many players from the state of Michigan have either put their name on the map, cemented their spot as prospects, or risen up the ranks because of their play on the PGH Circuit this spring. Let’s take a look at some of those athletes.
Hailey Freshcorn Hailey Freshcorn 5'8" | PG Columbia Central | 2024 State MI (2024, PG, MSF Flight 16u, Onsted)
Freshcorn seems to do it year after year on the PGH Circuit. First of all, she’s a terrific leader. The type of leader and dedicated athlete that every college coach wants in their program. I believe that Freshcorn can match up with basically any guard in the state in her class. She can score at all 3 levels and will consistently set the table and get the ball where it needs to be.
Maddie Ebbert Maddie Ebbert 5'9" | CG Lake Orion | 2023 State MI (2023, CG, PR1DE 2023, Lake Orion)
Ebbert’s ability to play on and off the ball was impressive. She could handle and distribute at a high level, but also worked well off the ball. Ebbert cut hard to the rim, always staying pass ready. She brought energy to the floor at all times as well.
Jadelynn Freeman (2026, G/F, Michigan Goonies 2024)
Freeman made sure that scouts and coaches know she’s coming to high school basketball next fall. She had a fluid movement that helped her glide up and down the court. Freeman does a great job reading matchups and attacking her opponents weakness.
Mariah Kerley Mariah Kerley 5'9" | SF East Jackson | 2025 State MI (2025, SF, The Naturals 2025, East Jackson)
Kerley showed a real scorer’s acumen this spring. She often times plays with the mentality of a scorer at heart. Kerley attacks the defense with confidence and utilizes every tool in her tool belt to get the job done.
Taylor Lockhart (2024, F, TC Elite 2024, Stockbridge)
Lockhart did a lot of damage on the glass when I saw her on the circuit. She went up after the ball instead of waiting with her hands high. Lockhart’s work on the boards allowed her to get high percentage put back opportunities.
Madison Morson Madison Morson 5'8" | SG Plymouth Salem | 2024 State MI (2024, SG, Michigan Lady Playmakers 2024, Salem)
Morson sent a message statewide while on the PGH Circuit. It’s not surprising that her recruiting is gaining heavy steam after the incredible spring that she had. Morson is an athletic scorer with good hip movement and the ability to pull up quickly off the bounce.
Shamya Reid Shamya Reid 5'5" | PG Westfield Prep | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, HYPE Athletics 2023 Doc, Westfield Prep)
Reid proved at the Great Lakes Challenge that she can go toe to toe with some of the better guards IN THE COUNTRY. She showed in the gym range and elite ball handling skills. It seemed like Reid could use her handles to create a look at the buck basically whenever she wanted one. This young lady is going to be an absolute steal for a coach at the next level.
Breanna Thomas (2023, F, HYPE Athletics 2023 Price, Westfield Prep)
Thomas was more than solid with her play in Grand Rapids on the circuit. She used her combination of power, physicality, and athleticism to create matchup issues for her opponents. Thomas could be ready for a big senior season.
Selena Titus (2025, PG, BNB 2025, Tri-Unity Christian)
Titus showed why she’s a prospect to keep close eye on in the coming years. She plays downhill, attacking the defense off the bounce. Titus does a nice job forcing the defense to rotate and finding an opening.
Megan Wurster Megan Wurster 5'10" | SG Lakeshore | 2025 State MI (2025, SG, Harbor Impact 2025, Lakeshore)
Wurster certainly put her name on the map with her play on the PGH Circuit. She got the job done on both ends of the floor and was very active offensively, with or without the ball in her hands. What might have been most exciting about her play was her consistency. It seemed like Wurster played at a high level every weekend.
