Well, they’re not always accurate with spelling and (or) numbers associated with them, hey even with rosters I sometimes have typos, yet in order to associate named player in the correct class, as well as the name.
This stuff is serious yet what do I know after 20 years and helping hundreds of players who had absolutely nothing on the table get to the next level directly or the thousands that no one knew about receive offers just because of what I wrote yet this era of social media nonsense, fake offers, deepfake videos and I won’t even dive into the “off the court” activity, I just SMH as the portal continues to overflow
I got most of these names almost right at the event, took some leg work and I was also aided by some of the players having the correct numbers on their uniforms. I was reading about Michael. Williams is being paid tribute on a 20-year reunion of The Wire which is fitting because one of my all-time favorite lines when applies to when someone tells me I made a mistake that wasn’t my fault “are you talking about a do-over” “That’s not how the game is played” yet I break down and correct it anyway so here’s part 1 from MS
Shilo McCowan (Ellis County Storm 2027)
McCowan applied “on the ball” pressure right off the top and her defense helped create turnovers by forcing players into the trap or just coming up with steals. She also read the floor while on defense, this led to her coming up huge by playing the passing lane yet I also enjoyed watching her set the defender up to attack the basket
Skylar McCowan (Ellis County Storm 2027)
McCowan, yes their twins, and their games somewhat mirror each other because of the intensity that they bring to the table, on both ends. I enjoyed both “getting after it” and even though the table hasn’t been set, the upside both possess is nice. Skylar also scored off the dribble yet she was rebounding fiercely on both ends, as well as playing the passing lane
Kiki Nobles (Ellis County Storm 2026)
Nobles played on the Ellis County Storm’s older middle school team and what I enjoyed was that she’s one of those “never takes a play off” type of player and baseline to baseline, she was on whoever she was guarding, yet her energy level stayed the same. She handled the ball in the open court, she attacked and finished after contact, plus she created her shot for the jumper
Sheila Groves (Tiger Den)
Groves is “long and athletic” and I love using that because it’s one of the profiles I’m fond of and I call it “the base” because I start adding intangibles. One of which is that she understands how to set the defender up, her first step is nice and her body control is also a plus as she finishes strongly
Carolyn Smith (Tiger Den)
Smith, the name may be wrong yet eval is correct, is also long and athletic, and when I add tall into the mix, that’s another plus, so is her rebounding as well as finishing around the basket yet the biggest plus is her UPSIDE because she does things INSTINCTIVELY and she also REACTS well in situations
