With over 85 players in attendance from around the region, it was a great melting pot of talent. Below, is a look at Part I of my standouts from the day.

Mack had a nice day at the St. Thomas Elite Camp. She is a speedy and skilled guard who finished at the rim well. Used both hands extremely well and showed the ability to finish at the rim over length on both sides. Displayed a high basketball IQ and ability to direct the offense on the floor. (Featured photo)

Holmberg caught my attention fairly quickly as she stood out quickly. She’s a lengthy guard who was able to do a lot of really nice things with the ball. Displayed quick hands on the defensive end and drove the ball well offensively. I hadn’t remembered seeing Holmgren before this camp and she impressed me.

Padgett is a kid who defends the basketball at a very high level. I thought that she did a great job in drills as she displayed the ability to lock down on the defensive end. She’s a smaller guard but has a great lower base that allows her to hold her ground. She’s a very crafty guard who will be a lot of fun to follow over the next four years.

Werner is a very well-built wing who can play both on the wing and as a forward. I thought that she had a great motor today as I felt like she was going 100% at all times today. Werner is a skilled player who showed some nice footwork on the inside as well today. Has quite a bit of length and uses it extremely well.

Bjorge is a smooth guard who showed a great deal of shooting ability this afternoon. I thought that she was very confident in her shot and it looked great all day long. Does a really good job of finishing near the rim and I was impressed with her footwork with the ball. She showed a ton of skill and patience with the ball.

Williams is a very athletic guard who is very good on the defensive side of the ball. I thought that she played well today and showed a ton of skill with the ball. She’s improved her game over the past year and has a super high ceiling. Was among the best kids at the camp today and has a great four years ahead of her.

Beyer was very impressive today as she has complete control of her game. I thought that she passed the ball well and made others around her better. Shot the ball extremely well from both the perimeter and from the mid-range. I love her ability to score the basketball and has made a lot of strides in her game over the past year.

Samz played at a very high level all day long as she brought the energy. Her ability to get to the rim was on display but I also thought that she shot the ball well. Always seemed to make the hustle plays on the floor and was always around the basketball. I was impressed with Samz play today.
