Every team that stepped on the floor gave it their all and competed. The players listed below stood out and made an impression on me in their unique way.
Brandie Harrod Brandie Harrod 6'1" | SF Millwood | 2025 State OK | 5-11 / SF | Millwood HS | 2025
Brandi has a strong athletic presence on the court. She has the skills to take you off the dribble in an isolation situation, and also post you up and go to work down low. The one skill that Brandi has that separates her from most players at her position, is her passing ability. She sees the floor really well and makes the correct play, right on time to open teammates. Being a willing passer, gives her the ability to make her teammates better. Brandi is a player that I will keep an eye on moving forward.
Slatey Free | 5-4 / PG | Leflore HS | 2026
Slatey is a feisty guard that plays active and makes an immediate impact while on the court. She is savvy with the ball and doesn’t run from confrontation when the pressure is on. She has active hands on-ball and plays the passing lane well on defense. She picked the pocket of a high-level player and created an easy bucket for one of her teammates. Slatey can attack downhill and draw the defense to create some offense for her team. She makes timely shots either at the rim or behind the 3-point line. She is an under rated player that has a lot of up-side to her game.
McKenzie Mathurin McKenzie Mathurin 5'10" | CG Broken Arrow | 2025 State OK | 5-10 / CG | Broken Arrow HS | 2025
McKenzie can go!! She gets the job done when it’s time to work. She is aggressive and doesn’t play around when the ball is in her hands. She will lower her shoulder and get to the basket no matter who is on her and she will finish at the rim. She hit two big shots behind the three-point line to extend the lead against Leflore HS. She is a volume shooter for Broken Arrow, but once she gets going, it is difficult to stop her.
Tyla Heard Tyla Heard 5'10" | SF Sapulpa | 2024 State OK | 5-11 / F | Sapulpa HS | 2024
Tyla is a skilled player that can make an impact for her team in so many ways. One play she is posting up strong with great inside position. Then the next play she is bringing the ball up, initiating the offense. Once she catches the ball in the post, she has great footwork and will find a way to score it. She finishes really well attacking the basket with contact and has the ability to shoot the mid-range jumper.
Aaliyah Henderson Aaliyah Henderson 5'8" | PG Norman | 2023 State OK | 5-10 / CG | Norman HS | 2023
Aaliyah is a strong combo guard that uses her solid frame to her advantage. She has lightning-quick speed, and when going downhill, she absorbs contact well and finishes. She can shoot it from 3-point land and is pretty aggressive when the pressure is on but can also slow the tempo down when needed. Aaliyah has a high-motor and is a big presence on defense for Norman High School.
Josie Megehee Josie Megehee 5'10" | CG Bethel | 2025 State OK | 5-9 / SG | Bethel HS | 2025
Josie is a player that plays with a lot of energy. She catches the ball and is immediately in attack-mode. When attacking the basket, she is aggressive and engages contact and finishes at the rim. In the open floor, if she sees an open gap, she will take it and before you know it, she scored. She has great shooting ability and hit big shot after big shot in the game verse Bixby Hs.
Gentry Baldwin Gentry Baldwin 5'5" | PG Bixby | 2023 State OK | 5-5 / PG | Bixby HS | 2023
Gentry is a player that sets the tone for her team on both ends of the floor. Her on-ball presence is an attacking style that causes tons of problems for the other team. She is crafty when the ball is in her hands, handles pressure well, and can create space for her shot. If she catches the ball behind the 3-point line and her feet are set, it is almost automatic. The impact she brings to a team is her leadership ability and she does that at a high-level. Gentry knows how to put her teammates in the best position to score.
