These three ladies are poised to have a big year. Check them out.
Meadow Tisdale Meadow Tisdale 5'10" | PF Bowling Green | 2023 State KY – 5’10″ Bowling Green
I often want to avoid the personal with players. I don’t want to cross any lines. But to know Meadow Tisdale Meadow Tisdale 5'10" | PF Bowling Green | 2023 State KY you have to know how badly she wants to WIN. I tracked her down to take a photo after a close loss in last year’s LIT. A game she dominated and gave her all and she was sobbing. Just a mid-season tournament and losing it hurt her that much. That is how hard she will play to WIN. She just wants it more.
Tisdale is a warrior on the basketball court. She bangs for position, goes hard after every rebound, and to the floor for the loose ball. She not only runs but sprints in transition every second she is on the court. She defends all game like giving up a single point is going to lead to a loss. She sweats out so much liquid she ould change into a new uniform each quarter and soak through them all.
I would take her on my team in any sport because I know she is going to give everything she can. Some may consider her undersized for her position on the next level. Those people are wrong. She is the definition of the cliche that it isn’t the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that counts. WOOF.
She has an advanced post-up game with multiple moves, counters to those moves, improvisations off of those moves, and she executes them lightning quick. She is perhaps the most dynamic post player in the state and she can step outside too. I don’t even have any advice on how you might try to stop her from tearing through your defense and I think I can be pretty creative in designing a defense. Maybe pray?
[player_tooltip player_id=”448817″ first=”Katie” last=”Durbin”] – 5’11″ Meade County Team Firstep
Durbin is new to this list and I will take the blame for that. Because I saw Meade County enough last year and was impressed enough that all 4 new players to these rankings (in ’23, ’24 & ’25 classes) should have been added last spring. They must have slipped my mind.
This is a player to watch. She is an excellent 5 for a 5-Out system that can probably play the 3 or 4 on the next level. She has great quickness, a high motor, and is a consistent finisher around the rim. She plays tenacious defense in the post and on the perimeter, can handle the ball in the open court, and shoot the ball from the outside.
Breanna Jones Breanna Jones 5'11" | PF PRP | 2023 State KY – 5’11″ PRP
Jones is a multisport athlete and the youngest in a family that has placed every older sibling into the college ranks in one sport or another. She is somewhat inexperienced with basketball after having been a little more interested in other sports at a younger age. But she is growing as a player. I would classify her as a sleeper that will awaken to be an important post player for a small college program. I highly recommend her to NAIA coaches that could give her a season on the JV team to develop her game.
She has a strong body that she uses to maintain position to post up and get rebounds. She has great body mechanics that give her physical advantages that she is learning to exploit. She is tough to defend in the paint because of her quickness and ability to elevate over most players.
