Victory Region Team Profile – Dayton Vipers Elite
In this article:
The Dayton Vipers Elite bring four teams to the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit this year out of Dayton, Ohio and the surrounding area.
Coach Derek Gunter has been the Program Director for the past six seasons, promoting a Family environment and the “Three E’s”, Effort, Energy, and Enthusiasm. “We’re a smaller program in an area with many big programs, so we want to show that you don’t have to go to a big program to be successful.”
The Dayton Vipers Elite have helped past players move on to compete at all collegiate levels, including schools such as Toledo, Notre Dame of Ohio, IU East, Shawnee State, Wilmington, Wittenberg, and Clark State. Here are some current players who Coach Gunter says have a chance to make an impact at the next level:
2025 Brooke Haywood Brooke Haywood 5'8" | CG Chaminade Julienne | 2025 State OH is a high-level athlete who can score at the rim and regularly blocks or alters shots in the lane.
2025 Amyannah Tucker Amyannah Tucker 5'6" | CG Richmond | 2025 State IN is a high IQ player who can score from all three levels and gives great effort on the defensive end.
2026 Aubrey Fritz is a high energy player who plays with a ton of heart and can score from anywhere on the floor and plays lockdown defense.
Coach Gunter also made note of four players he considers “under-the-radar” who are poised for a breakout year on the Circuit:
2025 Alianna Davis is an extremely intelligent player who shoots the ball well from deep and in the mid-range.
2024 Aleesa Combs is a natural scorer from every level who constantly works hard and gets her teammates involved.
2026 Isabella Keeton is a high energy player with great leadership skills on and off the court.
2026 Brooklynn Sykes is a hardworking athlete who is always showing the desire to improve her skill by spending extra time in the gym.
Coach Gunter’s goals for the program are to “Always be competitive and stay true to who we are as a program. We want to find players who want to get better and I am confident in our coaches ability to help these kids be successful.”
“We chose to play on the PGH Circuit because of the great competition and the ability to get our girls seen more. We wanted to take advantage of the exposure that is available with the PGH Circuit.”
