Dekaria Carter-DEBS Elite Gold, 5’5” SG, Conway HS, 2025-Dekaria is a solid player on both ends of the court. Her basketball IQ is beyond her years. She is capable of playing all guard positions effectively. Her strength is in the open court starting the transition and getting out on the fast break. She should log some quality minutes for her high school team as a sophomore next school season.
Virginia Gonzalez-Arkansas Net Rippers, 5’5” SG, Green Forest HS, 2024-Virginia can finish! She can penetrate the paint and create shots. She is physically strong enough to take on the bigs and get a high percentage shot or draw the foul. The ball is in her hands on every offensive possession. She’s smart and will dish off when double-teamed. Virginia has excellent court vision and doesn’t turn it over. Her leadership skills are top-notch.
Chloey Brown-Arkansas Select 2025, 5’5” SG, Home School-Chloey can get out on the fast break and go. She is very quick and fast. She can play both the swing and point guard positions. Her versatility increases her playing time and enables her to play up with both the 2024 and 2023 Arkansas Select teams. Chloe has solid defensive skills and is strong enough to guard a bigger opponent.
Jacey Halitzka-Arkansas Net Rippers, 5’5” SG, Bergman HS-This girl can shoot the rock! She’s predominantly a catch-and-shoot player that can release it very quickly. She moves well without the ball and can get open quickly. Just an 8th grader, Jacey has a good opportunity to play extended varsity minutes if she can get stronger on the defensive end.
Kenya Bean-DEBS Elite Gold, 5’6” SG, Cabot HS-Kenya is a mirror image of her teammate Dekaria Carter. Another high IQ player, she can play effectively on both ends of the court. Kenya does the little things that make’s her so valuable to her team. She leads the team in steals and can rebound very well for her size. She’s a good free-throw shooter and looks to score often. Kenya will play a large part on her high school team as a sophomore.
Breanna Hall-DEBS Elite Gold, 5’6” SG, Cabot HS-Breanna will be a junior at Cabot next season and will share the leadership role. She’s is very quick and can get out on the break for easy baskets. She has excellent court vision and anticipates very well. A good defender, Breanna switches well and blocks passing lanes effectively. She’ll be a huge part of Cabot High School success next school season.
A couple of to-be-seniors caught my eye as well;
Jayla Stirgus Jayla Stirgus 5'4" | PG Sylvan Hills | 2023 State AR -Arkansas Select 2023, 5’4” PG, Sylvan Hills HS-Jayla is an excellent ball-handler. She’s very quick and her anticipation skills are unbelievable. She’s always in control and her court awareness and vision is at a high level. It’s like the ball is part of her body. She can shoot the 3 or blast by her opponent for a lay-in. Pay attention to this athlete. She can play at another level now!
Shaylee Ward-Arkansas Net Rippers, 5’11” P, Harrison HS-Shaylee is a space-eater that has excellent footwork inside. She rebounds well, specifically on the offensive end. She work’s her opponent from both sides of the lane to create high percentage shots. Shaylee plays predominantly with her back to the basket in the post-up mode.
