The 2024 class are now considered upperclassmen and are heading into the tail end of their 16u AAU seasons and the start of their Junior seasons. This update of the rankings brings the class to 105 total ranked players and some movement in the top 10 in the class. Here’s a look at the updated top 10.
[player_tooltip player_id="167099" first="Shaelyn" last="Steele"], Russell - Shaelyn takes over the top spot and will look to hold onto it for a while. The athletic guard is extremely hard to stay in front of and is gets to the rim with ease. Steele has a long list of college suitors and should see high major schools get involved in her recruiting soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="167104" first="Audrey" last="Biggs"], Boyd County - Biggs is actually AAU teammates with Steele and they are part of the core of one of the best 2024 groups around. On the court, Audrey is a mismatch who can slash past defenders and get to the bucket or catch and shoot at a high level.
[player_tooltip player_id="167106" first="Trinity" last="Rowe"], Pikeville - Trinity is a high IQ point guard who excels at running a team and getting her teammates involved. She’s the kind of point guard that everyone wants to play with thanks to her unselfishness with the ball in her hands. Rowe has a very long list of scholarship offers already.
[player_tooltip player_id="167139" first="Ramiya" last="White"], Butler - White is a matchup problem for another reason, she’s tall and tough and knows how to score around the bucket. Ramiya is also an above average shot blocker. She has the most high major offers on this list but she’s not yet as consistent as the ladies ahead of her.
[player_tooltip player_id="231487" first="Mariah" last="Knight"], CAL - Mariah is a big forward who has shown she can score the ball on the perimeter or off the bounce. Knight has great positional size and is a good athlete who is at her best when her motor is running and she’s being active on both ends of the court.
[player_tooltip player_id="245899" first="Reagan" last="Bender"], Sacred Heart - Bender is another player who can score inside or out and was a very reliable scorer for the reigning state champs. She can get overshadowed at times but college coaches have taken notice of Reagan’s versatility and have been lining up to recruit her.
[player_tooltip player_id="167107" first="Liz" last="Freihofer"], Cooper - The best shooter on this list, Liz knocked down 40% of her three point attempts last season for a Cooper team that made a run to Rupp Arena. Freihofer also rebounds well for her position and has shown she’s not afraid to mix it up with bigger opponents.
[player_tooltip player_id="239840" first="Quinn" last="Eubank"], Ryle - Part of a loaded Ryle roster, Eubank averaged a double double last season and could be the most valuable player in the 9th region. Last season started to see Quinn stretch her offense out past the three point line. As she gets more comfortable out there, her college stock should skyrocket.
[player_tooltip player_id="257276" first="Angelina" last="Pelayo"], Sacred Heart - One of the top bigs in the class, Angelina patrols the paint on both ends of the court and has shown herself to play with a great motor. Pelayo could average 20 and 10 on a lesser team than Sacred Heart and college coaches have taken notice as she has multiple D1 offers already.
[player_tooltip player_id="398020" first="Destiny" last="Jones"], Central - One of our big movers in this update, Jones was one of the most consistent players in the 7th region last season and is hard to guard for any opposing team. She needs to work on her shooting (especially at the free throw line) but Destiny has the tools to help get Central to Rupp Arena this season.
