This final “live” weekend of the 2022 grassroots season, All-Iowa Attack is hosting their annual Summer Finale. With a number of EYBL, 3SSB, BlueStar, and other top programs, it has made for an outstanding event well-attended by college coaches from across the country. While my primary coverage area is Indiana, I had the opportunity to check out a handful of non-Indiana teams throughout Day-1. Below is a look at a few ladies who stood out for one reason or another when I was able to see them.

, 2023, 6-0 F, St. Michael-Albertville H.S. (MN), Minnesota Metro Stars-Wiese 17U
– Piper might have been the most active kid I saw all day Saturday. She has an athletically strong frame, great length, and she’s very bouncy. She seemed to play at a faster speed than her opponents, and she did so while being under control. She grabbed a number of rebounds outside of her area, she showed the ability to defend multiple positions, and she consistently contributed at both ends of the floor. Offensively, she looked to post a little, but she looked most comfortable in the mid-post and short-corners.

, 2023, 6-0 F, Wayzata H.S. (MN), Minnesota Metro Stars-Wiese 17U
– Shannon is a very interesting inside-out forward who showed the potential to help a college program in several different ways. She has really nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and she’s a fairly fluid athlete. All-in-all, she’ll likely be a face-up ’4’ at the next level, but she has a pretty jump-shot that extends to the perimeter, she has good ball skill and can put it on the floor and even create a little, and she sees the floor well and can find open teammates. She also defends multiple positions, and she plays with a quiet toughness.

Rapid City Christian | 2023
State
SD
, 2023, 5-10 G, Rapid City Christian School (SD), South Dakota Attack 17U
– The University of South Dakota commit was on full display Saturday, making plays at both ends of the floor. She has a well-balanced skillset and a great feel/awareness for the game. She can play a point guard role, handle the ball, create, and distribute. She is a very good perimeter shooter with a quick release, but she’s also a nice all-around athlete who can get to the basket and finish through contact. She is just so consistent with her play, that even if she’s struggling to score, she can contribute in other ways.

Green Bay Notre Dame | 2024
State
WI
, 2024, 5-8 G, Notre Dame Academy (WI), Wisconsin Purple Aces 17U
– When I was first watching this team/game, Trista was so steady and had such a mature game, that I didn’t know she was an underclassman playing “up”. She showed really good ball skill and had a nice overall feel for the game. She has good vision and makes some quality passes, plus she handles pressure and traps well. Additionally, she showed the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers consistently, she created space with the dribble, but she also got to the basket and finished. She seemed like a tough, high IQ kid.
Taylor Osborn, 2026, 5-11 F, Raytown M.S. (MO), Della Lamb 14U
– Taylor is a highly intriguing prospect with a lot of upside. She is extremely long, wiry-strong, and fairly bouncy. She runs the floor well North/South, plus she has solid hands and can catch & finish in transition. Late in their morning game Saturday, she even knocked down a 3-pointer from the wing and looked comfortable doing it. Defensively, she was a nice rim-protector, and she moves well and can come out on the floor to defend ball-screens. If she continues to grow, she could be a good one.

Liberty North | 2026
State
MO
, 2026, 5-9 G, Liberty North H.S. (MO), Della Lamb 14U
– Millie is a skillfully versatile guard who does a little of everything for her team. She has nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and she’s a solid all-around athlete. She can handle the ball and push in transition, she can initiate the offense, plus she’s a natural scorer. She has a nice-looking jump-shot and can create shots outside, but she’s also capable of putting it on the floor and getting to the basket. She might still grow another couple of inches, but as she gets stronger, it should only make her game more consistent.
