Without these guys, are kids would have no where to play, they would be stuck in their same old town playing the same teams over and over again. These guys work hard to bring you different teams from different states and sometimes different countries, but still goes unnoticed. I am here to recognize you promoters for what you do, you also provide the content I need for my site here, I can go to your event and see the girls and boys play and give my opinion on how they did. So with this article, I would like to point out some promoters that have worked with me and provided what I need as to roster and books to help me identify the kids that are not on the radar of coaches. Here we go….
Ryan Silver, West Coast Elite Founder and CEO – Ryan bust out on the seen as a young coach, he was back in the day when the Pump Brothers were on top with their Adidas connection and were running their tournaments with mega teams attending. Ryan was their man that took care of things on the floor and they ran the business, while he was the out recruiting some of the best talent for the programs. He ventured out on his own and made some good partnerships, which allowed him to garner the Under Armor deal that put his program on the top in the West Coast. I was witness to his program West Coast Elite that put together one of the stronger girls programs in the West, with a host of great players that we will mention below. We want to recognize Ryan for his contribution to Basketball as a whole, he was a pioneer in organizing events and also building basketball squads for his program. His girls team was one of the strongest in a long time, first year, he had 11 girls on his Top 17U UA Circuit team and 8 of those 11 girls signed to Division I programs. Ryan made sure we were treated with respect and always got the player information to us so we could report on his players, first class media treatment.
West Coast Elite Girls UAA Alums:
2020, 5’11, CG, New Mexico State University, Taylor Donaldson – One of the coldest shooting guards that played in the area and state in her graduating year, she was a stone cold killer, could score the ball and could lock you up as well on the defensive side. Great kids to be around and one of the most skilled in my opinion. Sweet lefty shot was nothing but BUTTER….
2020, 5’8, PG, Texas University, Ashley Chevalier – one of the most determined point guards in the state, she would will game wins for her team and was never afraid to put the team on her back and take it home for them. She was a menace on the court and made her statement in every game. Loved her spirit as a player, great kid.
2020, 6’2, PF, Cal State Fullerton, Ashlee Lewis – one of the most skilled bigs in the state at that time, came from a heralded program in Long Beach Poly, she was a warrior and made the right plays on the court each and every time she played. Ferocious rebounder and post player inside the paint, she would punish her opponents on both sides of the floor.
2020, 6’1, PF, Pepperdine University, Rosemary Odebunmi – She was a gentle giant in my opinion, she made plays on the floor for her team, but what I loved was her determination to defend. She block shots all the time and she could outlet the pass and get into the lane for easy buckets, loved this kid as well.
2020, 5’8, SG, Cal Poly SLO, Junie Dickson – Junie was a bucket-getter, she could score the ball plain and simple, we loved watching her knock down the three pointer with ease, we would yell, LAYUP, cause she was WET from three. This kid was a genuine ball player as well, she was fun to watch.
2021, 5’6, PG/SG, Cal Berkeley, Jayda Curry – Jayda is a straight killer and always have been, she is that skilled guard with everything to her game, she proved that in college as a freshman this past year. She can put the team on her back and win as well as she can get you at all three levels on the court, she made some strides this season that will go down in history for her as a player, proud to have been around this talent.
2021, 6’3, PF/C, Fresno State, Jessica Peterson – when you say rough and rugged, this is what you think about when you think about Jessica, she is a hard nosed player and will continue to be one, cause she is the hardest working girl in basketball. She would eat all of the bigs in the paint up and could also step outside and hit you with a jumper here and there, this kid is still going to be special, she is working each and every day to be great.
2021, 5’9, SG, Cal Baptist University, Trinity San Antonio – Trinity was the lockup specialist on the team, not only could she stop you on defense, but you had to guard her as well, cause she could put up 15+ points per game without you even knowing she had that much, straight production on the floor. She was a skilled guard that could guard positions 1-4 on the floor and make a mismatch with any of those positions, loved her game as well.
