Since Jaidyn Gulley Jaidyn Gulley 5'9" | SF Ashland Blazer | 2024 State KY reunited with WV Thunder she has been nothing short of sensational. Gulley has great size at the point guard position and she uses it well shielding off defenders keeping them from stealing the ball. She always let’s the game come to her she plays with great composure even in high pressure situations. Gulley has next level ball handling skills she keeps her dribble low which helps her get past defenders into the lane. She is a great finisher at the rim with either hand and she has a floater that is an absolute giant killer it is very hard to block. Against Team Sharp Hilltoppers 17U she made a huge impact on both ends of then floor helping her team win with a final score of 51-40.
Josephina Cross-WV Thunder Gold 2025
Josephina Cross has a great feel for the game she has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. She is a wing player with good size and length. Cross has a solid all around game she can shoot it from the perimeter as well as put the ball on floor and get to the basket. But her rebounding ability is what sets her apart from the rest. At the Select Open in Cincinnati, WV Thunder Gold went 5-0 and she averaged a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds along with 3 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. She carried that momentum into the GUAA Finals where she averaged 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Cross has next level potential and she has been improving her game all summer.

Dria Parker Dria Parker 5'10" | SF Spring Valley | 2025 State WV is a 5’10 shooting guard with elite skills and abilities. She is a marksman from the three point line with pin point accuracy, and she shoots a really high percentage from the field. You know a good shooter when the ball hits nothing but net every time. Parker put her long range shooting skills on display all tournament long she went 2-3 from three against IGB UAA, then against B Maze Elite with over 20 colleges coaches in attendance she went 2-3 from three. Parker was not finished yet the next game against Texas U she went 3-4 from three. To cap off her incredible shooting display she hit the game winning shot against Books and Basketball. Parker played hard at the Finals she boxed out every possession and when she got the rebound she pushed the ball up the floor finding her teammates in transition for scoring opportunities.

ZaKiyah Johnson ZaKiyah Johnson 6'0" | SF Sacred Heart | 2025 State KY is hands down one of the best players not only in Kentucky but in the Country. She is ranked the number 4 recruit in the class of 2025 by Hoop Gurlz and the number 1 prospect in Kentucky by Prep Girls Hoops. The 21-22 KY Gatorade player of the year took over in the Championship game against FBC United 17U scoring a game high 30 points with 18 of them coming in the second half. Her stellar performance helped WV Thunder 17U win the Under Armour Finals Championship in a quadruple overtime thriller.

Timberlynn Yeast Timberlynn Yeast 5'8" | SF Mercer County | 2023 State KY is a two sport athlete and she is just as good on the basketball court as she is on the track field. The Mercer County star and number 3 ranked player in KY coming out of the 2023 class by Prep Girls Hoops. Yeast had some impressive performances of her own at the GUAA Finals. She already has 21 college offers in her bag. Yeast demonstrated her next level abilities throughout the entire tournament. Not to mention she hit the game tying free throws with 2 seconds left on the the clock to send the game into overtime talk about clutch. Her lock down on ball defense and ability to get to the rim helped propel her team to a historic championship victory over a FBC team that was loaded with D1 talent.

Angelina Pelayo Angelina Pelayo 6'3" | C Sacred Heart | 2024 State KY has tremendous potential with her size and strength she already has the build to play at the next level. Pelayo can impact the game in many ways she’s the type of player who is willing to do whatever it takes for her team to come away with a victory. She played with a high level of energy on defense being physical in the paint and doing a excellent job at denying the low post entry pass. Pelayo was one of the most efficient players on offense throughout the tournament her points per possession were 0.971 with a 61% field goal percentage which was the highest amongst players who competed in all 3 sessions.

Anaya Chestnut Anaya Chestnut 5'7" | CG George Rogers Clark | 2026 State KY loves to compete she’s going to give you her all every time she steps on the court. Chestnut is a lockdown defender that enjoys taking on tough defensive assignments. She is a guard with great rebounding ability her efforts on the glass resulted in a lot of second chance scoring opportunities for her team. Chestnut plays with poise and she takes care of the basketball not turning it over very often. As she continues to develop her game I see a really bright future ahead of her
