Everyone of the teams had a great showing, with multiple teams taking home the Championship, and the others having great performances. One thing I keep hearing every tournament I go…”North Dakota is pushing out some real good talent these days”. Yes, we are and that is something we can all be proud of. Let’s take a look at some players who caught my eye.
Peyton Gette Peyton Gette 5'3" | PG Kindred | 2024 State ND : 5’3 PG Kindred (ND Attack)
Peyton’s defensive skills are top notch and she is incredibly aggressive. I enjoyed watching her, she’s bouncy, moves all over very well and has great speed. She may not put up big numbers on the score board, but the other skills she brings to the table, are key on the floor. The way she impacts the came, and her ability to attack the offense is impressive. Her ability to steal the ball without drawing a foul is something to see, simply because she has perfected it, and is so fluid doing it. She is very fun to watch, and I would consider her one of the best defenders in ND.
Haidyn Crockett Haidyn Crockett 5'9" | PG Northern Cass | 2025 State ND : 5’7 PG Northern Cass (ND Attack)
Haidyn is a gifted baller, she makes her presence known on the court and is hungry to score. Her ability to handle the ball is very skilled and refined, you can tell she has spent a ton of time perfecting her game. I really liked how well she attacked the rim, and was looking to score left, or right handed and her step back is a thing of beauty. She is going be one of the top PG’s in the state, the sky is the limit for her.
Arden Faulkner Arden Faulkner 5'10" | SG Fargo North | 2023 State ND : 5’9 SG Fargo North (ND PRO)
Arden is a very composed player that can do a little of everything. She has good size to her as a Guard and she knows how to use it both offensively, and defensively. She has really stepped up her game with her scoring ability and can sink shots all over the floor. I really like how well she can penetrate the lane, and finish at the rim. She is a quality guard who has tons of upside to her. I think this year will be a big year for and Fargo North as being a key scorer, and has all the skills to play at the next level. Not to mention she has a great looking shot.
Cabryn Fritel Cabryn Fritel 5'10" | SF Devils Lake | 2025 State ND : 5’10 Devils Lake (ND Attack)
The biggest thing that stood out to me about Cabryn was her work ethic, and how her motor does not stop. She gets around very well, and knows her roll in the paint and has an great touch around the rim. She has a good ability to attack the rim and draw the foul when she was crashing the lane, she knows how to do it well and uses it to her advantage. Last year she put up good numbers for Devils Lake, I can see her being one of the top rebounders in the EDC with her athletic abilities. She will have a bright future ahead of her.
Kennedy Harter Kennedy Harter 6'0" | PF Kidder County | 2023 State ND : 6’0 F Kidder County (Missouri River Elite)
Kennedy is a player that has every quality to play at the next level. Every game she plays she puts in 110% effort and runs the floor hard all game. Her ability to push the ball up the court, attack the boards and score from all angles is impressive. Offensively she attacks the rim , and isn’t afraid to pull up jumpers in transition, or hitting the open three. She is a great athlete in general, and will be a handful for players to defend this year. Oh, and did I mention she has an impressive vertical to her?…she can flat out get up off the floor!
Karew Lamoureux Karew Lamoureux 5'8" | SG Minot | 2025 State ND : 5’7 G Minot, ND (ND Attack)
Karew had a great showing at the Summer Finale. She really showcased her ability to handle the ball when being defended and was always looking for an open teammate, or an opportunity to score. She has a really nice looking left hand finish when she drives the lane, and crashes the boards when she is in the paint. I was really impressed with how well she played, and I know she will a big factor for Minot this coming year.
Ashton Safranski Ashton Safranski 5'7" | PG Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND : 5’6 PG Fargo, ND (Minnesota Stars)
Ashton impacts the games on so many levels, and luckly I was able to see her a few times over the last week. Her ability to see the court, open teammate and hit shots is some of the key things she does. What really stands out, is her defensive skills. She moves up and down the court very well, has a great lateral step and is just a bulldog of a defender. She flat out plays in their face and makes the offense work for what they get. The amount of work she puts in on the floor is impressive, and she plays hard all game long. With her work ethic she is only going to get better and better.
