Ham has been a showstopper at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Top 250 in years past, and would be once again. She’s a versatile 2 way player that can successfully defend multiple positions. Ham uses her length defensively to engulf her opponent.
Deurloo is coming off a solid spring and summer grassroots season and could continue building her momentum at the Top 250. She’s shown that she can play on or off the ball. When she’s at the point, she gets the ball to it’s spots with efficiency. Off the ball, she cuts hard and works for looks at the rim.
Montgomery has, in my opinion, had one of the most impressive grassroots seasons in the state. She reads the game and seems to always find a way to make a difference. Montgomery isn’t just a scorer off the wing, but also rebounds and defends among other things as well.
Beard was solid this summer and there should be a pretty large group of next level programs that will want to take a look at her at the Top 250. She can get buckets without forcing the issue and is a huge factor on the defensive end. Beard can defend the entire length of the floor and can force a turnover at any given time.
Laird is a next level post player that would benefit a lot of programs greatly at the next level. She can dominate the paint both on the glass and with her back to the basket. Laird can also get out in the open floor and be a factor in transition.
Somers is a very intriguing prospect with a whole lot of upside. She’s absolutely ferocious on the glass on both ends of the floor. Somers can also stretch the floor and creates matchup mismatches with her ability to step out from under the rim and deliver a consistent jumper with range.
