In layman’s terms, it’s self-explanatory yet many in the ERA still don’t or won’t get much of what I say so it’s someone that has elevated their games, aka progression. It’s also players that I hadn’t seen before that WILL be added to PGH Texas Top 100 classes so here ya go
Jasmin Holt-5’8 PG (Captain John L Chapin) Team Fusion Elect |2023|
Holt rhymes with THUNDERBOLT and she will make a huge debut on the next update, coming soon. I loved her game off the top, had this confused with Fusion from Oklahoma yet most are from West Texas and Texas is HUGE so I’m happy I caught her. She scores off the dribble, strongly finishes after the lick, and drops the mid to long-range. Her body control and court vision are really nice, and so is her “mental toughness”
Avari Berry Avari Berry 5'7" | PG Pfugerville | 2023 State TX -5’5 PG (Pflugerville) Austin Elite RFW |2023|
Berry sweetened her game all club season and her making her teammates better placed her on a different level. Some question her size yet she has been the dominant PG against some heavy hitters so one more time #sizedontmatter when you can play. She handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure, she controls the tempo, she scores off the dribble with acrobatic finishes, and drops the mid to long-range jumper
Crystal Jones–5’9 PF (Tom Glenn) Austin Elite RFW |2023|
Jones had a thing going on for just bringing it with power, strength, and determination in the interior. She doesn’t mind physicality, either giving or taking but what I was most impressed with was her DESIRE TO BATTLE for everything off the rim. Her hands and footwork improved over the summer, she scored with players literally hanging on her, that’s strong right, but she also defended well. By that, I mean not only in the paint, she stepped outside of the paint to hold her man as well, oh yeah, one of her power blocks knocked my water out of my hands
Damia Freeman-5’9 SG (Lincoln) Urban Heroes Ross |2023|
Freeman was SIMply exciting every time I saw her starting with the Houston Summer Slam and I was saying “What The Chuck” for a totally n different reason than the events organizers’ name. Her first step is devastating and it can leave the defender cemented to the floor, yet she’s long and athletic, that is the base, and watching her play the passing lane and go C2C, coast to coast, and finish acrobatically JUST DIS IT for me on this platform. Her pull-up in transition is equally impressive, and so is her “on the ball” defense
Janiah Perkins Janiah Perkins 5'3" | PG Highlands | 2023 State TX -5’4 PG (Highlands) Texas Flight Elite 17U |2023|
Perkins also falls into that #sizedontamtter category and she will be upgraded from her in the sixties ranking. She has SWB, speed with ball, meaning she can go up to a hunnid under control and either score or dish. She also sees the floor in the set, controls the tempo, and did a good job defending “on the ball” but to top it off, she also can score from mid to long-range. She doesn’t force anything, she plays within herself and just gets the job done
