The top ten has seen some shakeups in this update but the top 2 show no signs of changing any time soon. Here’s a look at the updated Top 10 in the rising Sophomore class.
ZaKiyah Johnson ZaKiyah Johnson 6'0" | SF Sacred Heart | 2025 State KY , Sacred Heart – Z is a generational talent and one of the best players that Kentucky has seen in a long time. Johnson had a big summer playing 17u for the West Virginia Thunder and earned offers from the most elite of the elite schools like UCONN and South Carolina. Look for the big guard to have Sacred Heart in position for another state title run.
Leah Macy Leah Macy 6'3" | PF Bethlehem | 2025 State KY , Mercy – As talented as Johnson is, Leah isn’t far behind. Leah is the second best prospect in the state, regardless of class. The 6’2 wing has offers from all over America and continues seeing her recruitment booming after a huge summer playing 17u with Kentucky Premier on the EYBL. Watch for her to have Mercy in position to cut nets down at Rupp Arena in the spring.
Ciara Byars Ciara Byars 6'2" | CG George Rogers Clark | 2025 State KY , GRC – Ciara gets overlooked a little bit as the third best player in the class but she’s super talented and has as bright a future on the court as anyone in the class. Byars is a matchup problem as a big guard who can score the ball off the bounce and isn’t afraid to take smaller defenders to the block when she has the chance.
Peyton Bradley Peyton Bradley 5'9" | CG Meade County | 2025 State KY , Meade County – Peyton is a certified bucket getter and one of the best pure scoring guards in the state already. Bradley has shown she can score the ball at every level and excels as a shooter who has deep range on her jump shot. Bradley has a ton of long term upside and will only continue to improve.
Halle Collins Halle Collins 5'11" | SF Knox Central | 2025 State KY , Knox Central – Collins is only a Sophomore but seems like she’s been playing varsity at a high level for a decade. Halle has overcome a knee injury in the past 18 months or so and rounded back into form with a big summer of AAU. Look for the versatile forward to keep adding to her offer list for the next few years.
Grace Mbugua Grace Mbugua 6'4" | PF Danville Christian | 2025 State KY , Danville Christian – One of the tallest prospects I’ve seen since I started PGH a few years back, Grace has very high long term potential as her game continues to develop. Keep an eye on Mbugua to continue creeping up the list as her career progresses.
Juliana Frazee Juliana Frazee 6'1" | C Franklin County | 2025 State KY , Franklin County – A post player with a high skill level, Juliana can score over either shoulder in the post. She’s been working to add more versatility to her game and getting increasingly comfortable playing on the perimeter. Look for Juliana to be the next great player for the Lady Flyers.
Skylar Waller Skylar Waller 5'7" | PG Marshall County | 2025 State KY , Marshall County – One of the best players in western Kentucky, Skylar is a pure shooter who is on the short list of best shooters in Kentucky. With Halle Langhi graduating, Waller is going to have even more responsibility on the offensive end this season but she has shown she’s up to the task.
Hayden Barrier Hayden Barrier 5'6" | SG Montgomery County | 2024 State KY , Montgomery County – Hayden is another player who has been around for a long time and has been as steady as they come up to this point in her career. A volume scorer, Barrier holds multiple D1 offers and is a perennial top player in the 10th region.
Marissa Green Marissa Green 6'3" | C Highlands | 2025 State KY , Highlands – Green has had a quiet summer after a solid freshman season where she averaged 14 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game. Marissa is a tall post who already got an offer from Morehead State and as her game gets more refined, Green should see more offers come her way.
