Later this month, August 28th to be exact, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana will be hosting its first ever Freshmen Showcase. At the release of this article, already more than 50 of the best incoming Freshmen are planning on attending, and we expect that number to continue to grow over the next three weeks. The event will serve as a great opportunity for PGH evaluators to get a first look at most of those 2026 prospects in attendance. Following the event, in September, Indiana is set to drop its quarterly rankings in all graduating classes, but we will premiere the 50-player, 2026 watchlist at that time as well. With that said, I wanted to take the time to point out seven ladies who shined brightly all Spring and Summer.

, 2026, 5-7 PG, Decatur Central H.S.
– Kamrah is a shifty, athletic point guard with nice creativity. She is a playmaker off the bounce, she will find open teammates, but she also has a wiry-strong, athletic frame, and she can get through the lane and finish at the basket. Defensively, she has enough talent to develop into one of the better defenders in 2026, as she can use her length, her athleticism, and her strength. As she continues to grow her game, learn the nuances of different offenses, and make her jump-shot a bit more consistent, she should continue to be one of Indiana’s best 2026 prospects.
Lillian Barnes

Valparaiso | 2026

, 2026, 5-10 W, Valparaiso H.S.
– Lillian’s game is beyond her years. She has a veteran savvy that helps her adapt/fit in to any environment. She has a fairly strong frame for her age, a little length, and solid all-around athleticism. But it’s her skillful ability to play any number of roles that stands out. She can act as a point forward, handle the ball, and create for others. She can knock down open perimeter jumpers consistently, but she’s also strong driving through the defense. She is just an all-around ballplayer. If her on-ball defense continues to improve, she’ll be a guard at the next level.
Myah Epps, 2026, 5-10 W, Homestead H.S.
– Myah is another versatile wing prospect, but of a different mold. She is still growing into her frame, she has a lot of length, wiry strength, and a somewhat smooth and fluid nature about her. She handles the ball well for her age/height, she can glide to the basket for scores, knock down the occasional jumper, and she’s good in the mid-range game. She’ll rebound as a perimeter player, and she can defend multiple positions as well. She just needs time to get stronger and finish growing, but she could see some Varsity action early this year for the Spartans.
Lola Lampley, 2026, 6-3 W, Lawrence Central H.S.
– Lola is sort of the measuring stick for this class, as she’s one of the top prospects nationally, if not at the top. She is a strong, physical, but versatile forward who can be productive in all aspects of the game. She is built like a true power forward, but offensively she has ball skill, the ability to get to the basket, she’s a solid passer, and she has a developing perimeter jumper. Defensively, she can take on 3s, 4s, and smaller 5s, and she’s an assertive rebounder with a nose for the ball. She is a matchup nightmare, because at her size, she is a talented athlete as well.
Maya Layton, 2026, 5-7 PG, Faith Christian School
– Maya continues to grow, and she’s still a couple of years away from being anywhere close to us knowing what she truly can become. She needs time to finish growing, gain strength, and likely become a more explosive athlete. Right now, she’s extremely long, fluid, and somewhat smooth. She has a solid handle, she can break down defenders, and as she learns how to play lower and keep the ball closer to her body, I’m not sure anyone will just take it from her. She uses her length well defensively, and she’s starting to shoot it with a little more consistency outside.
Aniyah McKenzie, 2026, 6-0 F, Lawrence Central H.S.
– Aniyah hasn’t even begun her Freshman season, and I can already tell you she’s one of my favorite high school players in Indiana. She has a tremendous motor, a quiet toughness, and she’s always in the action. She has a strong frame, but she keeps growing, and she has a balanced skillset as well. She is probably best in the short corners and mid-post, and she has one of the nicest 15-foot jumpers in this class. But she can stretch that to the 3-point line, and she can post undersized defenders. Most impressively, she can defend most guards/wings on the ball.
Brooklyn Renn, 2026, 6-1 F, Silver Creek H.S.
– Brooklyn already has some substance to her game, but there is still a lot of potential to develop. She is constantly growing, she’s extremely long, fairly fluid, but she still needs to build strength. She’s probably most comfortable around the block or in the mid-post, but she does have a little touch around the perimeter, and she can put it on the floor three or four dribbles and get somewhere productively. She’s another wait-and-see kid like a couple of the girls above, because she just needs time to grow into her frame. There is a lot of upside to her.
