Continue ReadingI don’t feel like explaining the title because sometimes things are just self-explanatory, even when many just read the HEADLINE yet don’t try to comprehend the story so I’m closing out Neville Jones Invitational later than I wanted, Prime Time Nationals 8th Grade will be here and Texas Finale will drop later.
I don’t fabricate, I have NO AGENDAS and even more importantly I don’t care what anyone else says, especially the national media people who were around when my daughter played so please don’t ask me about TOP 100, I need to see the player in person and if they are, I will add.
Speaking of IN PERSON, a perfect opportunity is coming up, the PGH Freshman Showcase is on August 28th and PGH Texas Top 250 Expo is on September 24th, please use this link with codes to REGISTER
Tianna Murray-5’4 PG (Patricia E Paetow) Houston Dream |2022|
Murray is a hair product I tried yet it was too hard and sticky but Tianna went hard and her sticky defense sold me years ago as I truly enjoyed watching her throughout her career. She dove on the floor for loose balls and took charges yet managed to control the tempo and run her team. She also scored, both off the dribble and from outside, and saw the floor well
Logan Johnson Logan Johnson 6'0" | SG Mayde Creek | 2023 TX -5’9 SF (Mayde Creek) Houston United 832
Johnson showed me something different in the club season and with her “college-ready frame” she was simply overpowering at times. She rebounded on both ends, she ran the floor on both ends but she also showed she could face the basket and score, mid to long-range. I also like her defense, both inside and outside the paint
Tyra Oliver-5’8 PG (Harker Heights) Austin Elite RFW |2023|
Oliver’s initials are T.O. and the acronym I used when I first saw her was TRULY OUTSTANDING as she gave one of the best COMPLETE game performances I caught to open the season. Nothing has changed, whatever is needed, she delivers, the key steal or bucket, a blocked shot, or even a rebound over taller players, oh yeah, that OTB, on the ball pressure …
Macie Whitfield-5’9 SF (Deer Park HS) Houston United 832 |2023|
Whitfield is heady, no surprise as she’s at the top of her high school graduating class but her playing within herself and thinking the game will attract even more college interest, and here’s why. When you have players that can get theirs “in the flow” and understand the “team concept” and do whatever it takes, well she’s already shown that which is why she made a Tip Sheet the first time I saw her YEARS ago
Zamari Reece-5’5 PG (Cypress Springs) Houston United Chuck |2024|
Reece’s pieces have come together as her progression throughout the year just showed, remember I KNOW WHO IS DEVELOPING and who is not, most of you just don’t but her “poise under pressure” just grabbed me and I told her how impressed I was. She nailed clutch shots, she made key assists and she defended strongly, there is still upside
Alexis Duhon Alexis Duhon 5'9" | SG Cy Ranch | 2024 State TX -5’8 SG ( Cypress Ranch) Houston United Chuck 2024 |2024|
Duhon went hard, starting with the Simmie Colson Invitational, that spectacular event will pop up again, not because it has my name, well not only, but it got a lot of players I had never seen on the map. Speaking maps, her ability to navigate, aka, zig-zag off the dribble and finish strongly after contact was a treat throughout the season, and so was her baseline to baseline pressure defense
Glenda Hawk-5’9 SG ( Cypress Falls) I.J.U. 17U |2025|
Hawk has the right last name because of her DEFENSE, her diving ON THE FLOOR for loose balls, her relentlessness in going after rebounds, and willing to take charge after charge spoke volumes at that same Simmie Colson Invitational. Fast forward throughout the season, I watched her do not only what I’ve mentioned but add offense as she did at #NJI
Solange Loadholt-5’8 SF (Lavega) Waco United 16U |2025|
Loadholt got a shoutout from Beyonce, wait that was her sister, okay she’s still getting one from me because of her INTENSITY on both ends. She is one of the most focused players in her class, that can actually play, and whatever her team needs, she’s there. The defense is solid, she scores both off the dribble and from outside yet her being vocal, as well as pumping her teammates up is priceless
