I have identified a few players from the summer who possess certain skill sets to play in the post at the next level.
Alary is one of my favorites because she always brings it every game, every possession. Opponents should be prepared for a physical battle because she likes to move bodies around and set the tone. She finishes well in the paint with both hands and has a nice mid-range shot. When she establishes post position she is really hard to move. She sets good screens and is a good shot blocker.

The picture- perfect sky hook is what got my attention, but the impeccable footwork is what made me stay around to watch the whole game. Not many players are dropping hook shots these days so it was refreshing to see Joleen use it multiple times. She knows how to establish position and then use her footwork to get off quality shots around the basket, including up and under moves and a couple of counters. She has a nice face up game and can make shots out to the three-point line. She is a good defender and has excellent timing on her blocked shots.
Rachel is a legit 6’3″ post and knows how to use that length to her advantage. She is a tenacious rebounder on both ends and patrols the paint on defense, deterring attacks at the rim. She has a nice touch around the basket and keeps the ball high at all times. Looking forward to seeing what her college choice will be.
Ciarra had a strong showing in July. Her activity and work rate really stood out as she ran the floor and scored a bunch of points off rebounds and effort. She has a nice offensive skill set and can play a physical style, but also has some finesse to her game as well. She should have a big junior season at Wiliam Penn High in York.
Athletic six-footer with excellent length. She has some nice post moves including a solid drop step and a little jump hook. Her footwork is good, and she has a nice turnaround jumper. Danika moves her feet well on defense and sets good screens. Looking forward to seeing her in high school action this season.
