Although the games do not count for anything, there will be some competitive action and plenty of prospects to be seen. Here are five ballers that scouts should be checking for in September and October.
Makayla is one of the 2025 prospects that I am most excited to watch this year. Her passing ability and natural feel for the game are elite. She has a nice perimeter shot out to the three-point line which really opens up the floor for her and her teammates. She should take a big jump in status in the WCAC this season.
Amora had a great summer playing with Team Melo, really showing improved decision making and cutting down on turnovers. Her three-point shot has improved a lot as she has added range and the ability to create space to get the shot off. She is one of the fastest guards in the area and will face some strong competition in the 695Hoops fall league. This is a great opportunity for her to raise her stock.
Jaeda is a professional bucket maker. She is strong and physical and deceptively quick. She can take smaller guards into the paint and punish them, or rain threes from the outside if defenders back off. She has improved her ball handling quite a bit and can hold down both guard spots.
Kamari is built like a power forward, plays like a point guard and played most of her minutes at small forward this summer. She is a very skilled passer and ball handler and real match-up nightmare. A very high IQ baller that plays at patient and deliberate pace, she has excellent vision and court awareness. Check her out with Spalding in the 695Hoops Fall league.
Randi is a super athletic and long forward that can play all three frontcourt spots if needed. At 6’2″ she has great length and is a mix of physicality and finesse. She runs the floor really well and causes problems by attacking the glass on both ends. Riverdale is hosting their own league so you can check her out for yourself.
