A talented three level scorer, Melcher is an aggressive player with strength, who can step back and knock down jumpers. She has a strong ability to get to any spot on the floor she wants and can finish through contact when attacking the rim. Defensively, Melcher uses her size, strength and footwork to stay in front of defenders and rarely allows an easy shot attempt. The Thunderbirds will be using Melchers grit in clutch moments this year for sure.
Highlights
Ahnica Russell-Brown
Ahnica Russell-Brown
Russell-Brown will be the primary ball handler on the Thunderbirds and with her playmaking ability, she should be in for a tremendous year. Her dribble drive ability is an asset with the solid big and wing players Bellevue West will have. She is active on both sides of the ball and will have no problem creating high percentage opportunities for her teammates or taking advantage of some open looks for herself. Russell-Brown’s competitiveness sets the tone for the T-Birds, and she will have a massive impact on the team’s momentum in the season.

Coyer knows how to maneuver down low on offense or defense and makes it a challenge for offenses to get shots off close to the rim. Coyer is set to have a huge year and cement her name in the rankings this season.

An elite scorer, White recently transferred from Derby High School in Kansas, where she averaged 10.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. White is an excellent penetrating guard who has multiple ways of finishing at the rim. She has a solid stroke and is a threat from beyond the arc. White is a scrappy combo guard who will bring that extra layer of toughness and ability to put the ball in the hoop that will have the T-Birds threatening for a state title. White will have an istant impact on the 2024 rankings.
