Sunday, August 28th, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana hosted its first-ever Freshman Showcase. The event, which took place at Fishers High School, included exactly 100 registered participants, all from the 2026 class. While a number of girls stood out throughout the duration of the event, I wanted to take the time to highlight a handful who I thought exceeded expectations based on previous viewings, or who were great in this opportunity to see them for the first time. This is not everyone who played well, just a select few, so I will have follow-up articles throughout the week highlighting each player who was in attendance. Thank you to all of the players, parents, and support staff who made this event a success!
Lillian has really made a name for herself over the last 12-18 months, whether that’s in college recruiting circles, with opponents, or with general fans who follow the game. She is a strong, highly skilled, and high IQ ballplayer. She isn’t really definable by position, because she does so many things well. She has a great motor, she can handle the ball and create offense, she can find teammates, and she can knock down shots or get to the rim herself. She will rebound, and she can defend bigger guards, wings, and smaller forwards effectively.
Highlights
Bailey has been a long, wiry, and intriguing wing prospect. But over the last year or so, she has gotten noticeably stronger, she’s become more fluid, a little more explosive, and she is absorbing contact better and finishing plays more consistently. Yesterday, she was great in transition, running the wide lanes most of the time and catching the ball out ahead, while finishing at tough angles around the basket. She plays mostly off the bounce in the half-court, but she can knock down an open jumper. She’s also an effortful defender.
Highlights
I first had the opportunity to see Gabby in late-May at a tournament in Louisville, and while she was solid there, I was happy to see her at greater length yesterday. She is a strong, physical wing. She is a solid athlete in most directions, she plays with a nice motor, and she showcased a versatile offensive game. She was able to post smaller defenders, basket cut, or rebound, and finish inside through contact in each of those situations. She also has a solid handle and can shoot it from the perimeter when in rhythm.

This will be one of the easier evaluations I’ll do from the weekend, because K.K. was just electric. At times, she looked like she was playing at a different speed than everyone else. She was constantly getting into the paint, scoring, or drawing contact and getting to the line. She also willingly found teammates when she couldn’t turn the corner, plus I was really impressed with her full-court, on-ball defense. She is extremely long, quick/fast, and she set the tone for her team each game as a one-person press at 84-feet.
Swynn is another young lady who really stood out with her energy. She is a versatile athlete with a wiry-strong frame, several times she pressured the ball as it approached half-court, then she would turn over her matchup and take it to the other end for scores. She played with much more aggression and physicality than when I viewed her in July, and she seemed to be on a mission. She is another one of those kids who is so versatile and can play multiple positions, whether it’s point forward, off the ball as a scoring wing/guard, etc.
Riley is an extremely long, fluidly athletic, and smooth perimeter player. She is another example of a versatile playmaker who can play a variety of positions. On the ball, she can create offense for herself or others, she slices through the lane with ease, and she can finish around the basket in a variety of ways. She can also knock down an open perimeter jumper, when in rhythm. She’s still a wait-and-see prospect, because she needs to finish growing, gain some strength, and I think her game will be that much more productive/consistent.

Of the kids I didn’t know at all going into the event, Ava was easily the one who impressed me the most. She is a long, wiry-strong, athletic wing who did so many things to stand out. The first thing she did was drive the ball effectively and finish athletically around the basket. After a few easy scores like that, she started knocking down jumpers to near the 3-point line, then she began handling it more and more in transition and creating/initiating offense for her team. She also showed some athleticism and versatility defensively.
Highlights
Trinity is one of the most explosive smaller guards that I’ve seen so far in Indiana’s 2026 class. She has an athletically strong frame, nice length at her height, and she is quick/fast with burst as well. She is bouncy, darts through gaps in the defense, and she takes on contact very well. She is as unselfish as they come on the ball, she willingly creates for others, plus she rebounds her position very well. She will just need to make her jump-shot more consistent. Defensively, she can pick up full-court and pressure the ball 84-feet consistently.
