The goal is to provide our audience with consistent updates on the prospects of Colorado. I won’t be jumping into the rankings until I see a majority of the teams and prospects. This is essentially a day one post after viewing a handful of 5A teams in the state. It’s already very clear the state has an abundance of talent and a large player pool.
Picking up a state is no easy task, but I have the ability to learn quick with consistency and finding the sources I need quickly. It’s not my first rodeo.
First, I wanted to get a look at the #1 rated prospect in the 2023 class, Macey Huard Macey Huard 6'2" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO of Valor Christian. She’s a 6’2 guard, which is rare.
When watching Huard, #11 really started to pop for me. #11 ( Quinn VanSickle Quinn VanSickle 5'8" | CG Valor Christian | 2025 State CO ) continued to show off her skill-set and when she put up her first three, I could see why Valor Christian made the 5A championship game. They had a bruising 6’2 post, a 6’2 guard/wing with skills, and an elite three-point shooter.
Now, let’s breakdown our first batch of 5A prospects and see where they thrive.

The Montana commit stands out immediately with crazy length to her frame. I don’t see many weaknesses to her game — she can handle the ball on the move and defend on and off-ball with length. 12.8 ppg. and you can most likely count on that number rising. Her passing ability stuck out some and makes plays that way. Takes advantage of size mismatches in her favor by posting in the paint. Has a ton of upside going into her collegiate career.
I’m very high on Quinn as a prospect in the limited time I’ve seen her. What stands out with Quinn is her three-point ability. A super smooth and super quick delivery on her shot. Made a whopping 48 threes out of 129 attempts for 37%. Has a strong frame and high-level defensive IQ and awareness of where the ball and her matchup is. A true gamer and playmaker with the ball as a shooter, scorer, and passer. Has a smooth command with the ball, and has high confidence with the ball in her possession. A D1 program looking for a knockdown shooter and court-stretcher, should look no further.
Grace possesses great size and an even bigger motor. She goes hard and will lay her body on the line for loose balls. In her Sophomore season she averaged a near double-double at 10.8 ppg. and 9.7 rpg. Grace will be a force in the paint for the next couple years. Hard not to root for her.
Highlights
Kendra is another lengthy prospect. Listed at 5’10 but I could have mistaken her for 6’0. Runs like a gazelle and can get up and down the court quickly with her long legs. Active and involved in many ways, with 8.0 ppg., 10.7 rpg., and 2.9 spg. Slightly raw offensively but has a high motor and earns her stats.
Celeste Flores
Celeste Flores
Celeste stands at 5’7 but she plays with toughness. A strong frame that she uses to muscle her way to get to her spot. Produced solidly across the board, with 7.9 ppg., 3.9 rpg., and 2.8 spg. I don’t see any major standout traits other than her strong frame, but she’s sound and solid in the necessary skills in the game
Sydney’s name says it all — Baller!! Though she averaged 2.1 ppg., she makes a big impact on the game. Great speed, quickness, and jumping ability. She’s a college-level guard that hasn’t quite exploded onto the high school scene. I believe she opens some eyes even more in her final season.
The Western Colorado commit is a true point guard that can change direction and control pace. Plays fast and has a good handle on the ball. A major threat from deep, making 49 trey-balls this past season.
The team’s leading scorer at 15.6 ppg. was efficient in doing so as well, with a 47% fg%. She also banged home a good number of threes with 48 at an elite 45% on 108 attempts. It’s tough to top that anywhere. Long and lanky frame at 5’10, with some physical upside.
Highly athletic and a springy and twitchy athlete. Is undersized for her role of controlling the paint. Brings a ton of energy to the game in tune to 11.0 ppg. and a hard-earned 6.5 rpg. Efficient as well, with a 46% fg%.
