The River Falls forward has all the length in the world, with the skill to boot. I’ve told multiple college coaches that if she has a foot in the paint, she could get and contest anything on her half of the floor, and I 100% stand by that. Her length and athleticism will change the momentum of a game on more than one occasion in the high school season, and that will continue through her college tenure.
Lili Hartel Lili Hartel 5'9" | CG Mukwonago | 2023 State WI
I haven’t talked about Hartel much since the high school season because she endured an injury and missed the event when I would’ve gotten to see her Lakers team. However, I love what she does on the floor. She’s a physical defender who loves taking the challenge of guarding the other team’s best player. When she’s on the floor, she plays as hard as possible every second she plays. Hartel is the player that every coach should want on their roster.
Ella Francois Ella Francois 5'7" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI
Not many rising sophomores look like Ella Francois Ella Francois 5'7" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI . She’s strong and knows how to use her strength on the floor. Francois plays off two feet, attacks her defender’s hip when she drives, and is one of the better rebounders at her size in Wisconsin. I’m a massive fan of what she does because she plays to her strengths, literally and figuratively. As she expands her overall game, I think she has a chance to be one of the more difficult one-on-one matchups for guards in the Green Bay area shortly.
Karissa Smith Karissa Smith 5'9" | SG Appleton North | 2023 State WI
Very few kids can say they shoot the ball as Smith can. When given time and space, it might as well be considered a layup for her. Neenah played a zone against her Appleton North team and responded with a barrage of 3s, finishing with eight on the night. Smith also understands the game well. She understands where her shots are coming from in the flow of a game. The rising senior also utilizes good cuts to get to that area. If she ends up somewhere at the next level where they deploy Smith to the best of her ability, those coaches will be ecstatic with her.
