It wasn’t long before some of the First Coast youngsters were making people take notice. During a Memorial Scholarship weekend in Melbourne, FL, several 2026 First Coast players really stood out. During the AAU tournaments in Jacksonville and Wesley Chapel, a few more players were emerged. When the summer league kicked off it was the 2026 players that caught my eye. By the time the Summer live period ended, several players had gained state-wide exposure. In this article we look at some of the top 2026 guards who will make their Varsity debuts and will be impactful in girls basketball on the First Coast.
Audrey Bayer / 2026 / 5″10″ / Bartrum Trail High School
Bayer is a stone cold baller who can light it up from all over the court. Early on in the summer season she was being compared to 2023 standout and Notre Dame commit, Emma Risch Emma Risch 6'2" | PG Palm Bay | 2023 State #23 Nation FL . During a Melboure evaluation period, Bayer got a chance to compete with the 2023s and really stood out. A few weeks later in a Jacksonville tournament, Bayer played with the 2023s and not only was she the star of the game, older players were deferring to her down the stretch, and Bayer delivered. Bayer played well in the college live period and there many were able to see the impressive skillset: The 3 point shooting, the handles, the ability to drive to the rim, the midrange game etc. Bayer has some serious game and she is going to be fun to watch in her Freshman season at Bartram Trail.
Evelyn Freeman / 2026 / 5’4″ / Bolles High School
Freeman has been on the radar for a while as a standout middle school player and during the summer leaugue Bolles she was making folks take notice. Freeman played lights out in Louisville and was awesome in Orlando. A few notes from the live period: competitive, great on-ball defender, has great speed, very good handles, can shoot the ball from all levels, and can take it to the goal and Play through contact. Freeman does a good job of playing the point guard position and is a very selfless player who runs the offense and gets the ball to her teammates
Jazlynn Curtis/ 2026 / 5’5″ SG / San Jose Prep
Curtis is one of the most athletic players I encountered this year and she had game as well. She has the ability ro really disrupt an offense with her on-ball skills and strength. Offensively, she can get in the paint off the dribble for a high percentage mid-range shot or penetration to the goal. Curtis is going to be a fun player to watch and playing up top with 2024 Terrielle Clark is going to be a duo to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Angel McClellon /2026 / 5’5″ PG / St Augustine High School
McClellon has attributes that you don’t teach. Speed heart, and a desire to be great. She can handle the ball and she can drive it to the goal. Not many can stay in front of the young guard. She is an aggressive player who looks to score at the point guard position. Using that speed to set up her teammates will make her a very valuable addition this upcoming season. Defensively, McClellon is a very good on ball defender who keeps her opponent in front of her.
Morgan Cremen / 2026 / 5’7″ PG / Beachside High
Cremen is another Freshman to watch out for this season. She is poised to make a big impact on the First Coast. She was impressive in Orlando and really played the point guard position well. She has the ability to go left or right and can distribute the ball to the open teammate. She can also score when she needs to. She is a tough on-ball defender and showed great leadership skills during the National Championship in Orlando.
Narissa Blocton /2026 / 5’9″ PG/ Ridgeview High School
I’ve had the chance to observe Blocton in the summer high school period and she looked like a different player when I saw her in Orlando. Nothing changed physically, but she was letting the game come to her, and utilizing her teammates more. Blocton can shoot from the outside, but she is at her best when driving to the goal and getting out in transition. She is a blur on the court and will be a fun and impactful addition to Ridgeview this upcoming season. Yes, there will be three Bloctons that opposing coaches will have to game plan for.
