Morgan Chester put together a strong sophomore campaign with 7.5 points, 8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She’s a reliable banger inside but is also mobile enough to stretch the floor and knock down the outside shot. Chester is a burgeoning mismatch that continues to improve each season.
The undersized post is a physical presence that battles on the offensive glass and can score through contact. Kelley uses her strength to fight for position and will score on putbacks or with her back to the basket. Teaira averaged 5.8 points and 5.7 rebounds as a freshman.
Ariel McCarter

McCarter will be thrust into a big role, coming into her sophomore season with experience already under her belt. She’s an active wing that will help guard both on the perimeter and in the paint. Ariel is a dangerous shooter on the weak side of the defense.
Lara caught my eye this season with her length. She plays inside and out on offense. Turner is a switchable defender and is always on the backboards. Lara has a nice touch from the mid-range and has long-term upside.
A powerhouse that went to the state finals in shot put as just a freshman, Eve Knight will bring physicality and low block scoring to Jefferson. She has good footwork with her back to the basket and showed over the summer an ability to finish through contact. Expect Knight to improve daily as she gets more and more reps at the varsity level. By the time she’s a senior, she could be a serious double-double threat.
If Rosebush suits up for East Forsyth this Fall League, she could be a focal point for the offense. Adeline is a capable rebounder that carves out space and will finish with either hand around the rim. She does a good job sealing inside and can be relied upon to always block out.
