The staff and their players brough a high level of energy and detail to every aspect of the four- hour event from start to finish. The drill stations were organized and competitive and featured useful instruction for legitimate game situations and scenarios. There were many talented players in the gym so I’m going to start out with some of the guards that caught my eye today.
Da’Brya is one of the best scoring guards in the area. She was in attack mode from the jump, cooking defenders in the drills and then carrying it over to the games. She can make shots from three- point range, pull ups and at the rim but she is most dangerous going downhill. She’s a fierce competitor and a solid defender. It’s always fun to watch her get on a roll.
I’m always happy to see Mary in the gym. She is a smooth lefty that gets into the paint at will and can finish or dish off to an open teammate. I like the work she puts in on defense, using her excellent footwork to frustrate ball handlers and quick hands to pick their pockets. You can’t talk about 2025’s elite players and not mention her name. She picked up the offer from Coach Jenkins for her efforts.
Theresa walked away with the Camp MVP award after a solid all- around performance. She shot lights out from deep and flashed her playmaking ability and leadership. She can strap up the length of the court and push ball handlers where they don’t want to go.
Highlights
Sydney is a tough competitor and always looks like she’s looking for the smoke on the court. She will bang inside if necessary and does not shy away from contact. She has a smooth little pull up jumper and she gets good elevation on her shot. She had a good day, playing hard and encouraging teammates.
Kennedy showed off her ball handling skills and passing ability today, but I really liked when she exploded into second gear and left defenders in the dust. She’s an explosive and strong finisher in the paint, especially off two feet. She was battling some minor injuries but still impressed.
Highlights
Kimmie showed off her versatility today. She rebounded on both ends, threw some absolute dimes to her teammates and engaged on defense. She’s a natural scorer so of course she went out and got some buckets. She’s poised for a big season in the IAAM.
Aniya Eberhart
Aniya Eberhart
This was my first time seeing Aniya and I like what I saw. She knocked down some three pointers and blew past defenders on her way to the rim. She looks like she can handle both guard positions with her ball handling and passing ability really standing out. Looking forward to seeing her again.
