Shalayne Morgan Shalayne Morgan 5'9" | CG North Shore | 2023 State TX -5’7 SG (North Shore) Houston United 832 |2023|
Morgan is so athletic, she has quicks hands, comes away with steals to score or she plays the passing lane and can go C2C because she handles the ball well, that’s coast to coast, yet her jumper, mid to long-range, as well as her acrobatic finishes off the dribble, get it done
Anay Quintana-5’7 SF (Frenship) HUB City Warriors |2023|
Quintana did a good job scoring off the dribble by attacking strongly and showing she could score after the lick yet she also mixed up and knocked down some outside shots while being defended
Scejonna Anderson- 5’5 PG (Eisenhower) I.J.U. 17U |2023|
Andreson started it off at the event my guys, Trey and Chuck, put together for me and my first look at Scejonna had me yelling What The Chuck for a different reason as she scored, in every way imaginable. Her mindset is “you can’t stop me” and trust me, she’s hard to handle period
Brooke Jones-5’6 SG (Midway) Austin Elite RFW |2023|
Jones was one of the biggest late-season surprises for me. She had an injury yet came from nowhere, sort of like when she grabs rebounds after being BTA to score on putbacks, she did over 6’0 players. Her powerful finishes and solid jumper from mid to long-range also stood out
Trannon Izworski- 5’11 SF (La Vernia) SA Finest Tay Bo |2023|
Izworski left a lasting first impression because she did a number of things quite well and let me start with her size, she’s just under “the magic number” yet she showed she could take the defender with either hand from the wing, and then she dropped the jumper a couple of times from the free throw line. As I was walking off, she let it go from deep so …
Khloe Vaughn Khloe Vaughn 5'9" | PG Klein Oak | 2024 State TX -5’6 PG (Klein Oak) Houston United Chuck |2024|
Vaughn has been similar to a prototype PG most of her career. Yes, she scored when needed but her ability to facilitate, her being heady, and controlling a team was always there. She took it to another level as she showed she could “put her team on her back” and her powerful finishes coupled with her deceptive first step were big, and so was the outside shooting
Journey Taylor-5’7 PG (Denton Ray Braswell) Lady Sharks United 17U |2024|
Taylor made me a believer a few years ago yet her first step sold me back then. She can handle the ball under pressure and in the open court, both help because she plays the passing lane but she also can drop the mid to long range so she always has me doing a remix Lady Shark, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Heather Baymon Heather Baymon 5'6" | PG Langham Creek | 2024 State TX -5’6 PG (Langham Creek) Houston United 832 |2024|
Baymon has completed that opening line “DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK” because I’ve been writing about her for years, even when I had to go and get her name because NO ROSTER was turned in, amazing what I don’t forget yet I don’t forget why I got up and asked. She goes hard on both ends, smothering defense and acrobatic finishes were already there, and so was the jumper, she just keeps adding, plus the range is deeper
Shunteria Anumele Shunteria Anumele 5'8" | SG Legacy Sports School of Science | 2024 State TX – 5’9 CG (Travis) Houston Dream |2024|
Anumele surprised me when I caught her and I’m glad I wasn’t having a Dream since I missed her all season but it was definitely a dream come true as she simply went off, I wanted to use a 2 letter acronym yet I’ll do that on Twitter. She’s so strong and scoring with players literally holding and grabbing her should paint a picture, that stop and pop ain’t nothing to play with and she sees the floor
Alaysia Gude Alaysia Gude 5'9" | CG LaVega | 2025 State TX -5’8 SG (La Vega) Waco United 16U |2025|
Gude told me to stop talking about her not giving me any of her Lay’s potato chips after giving me this HUGE bag but it fits because of her progression over the years and ability to expand her game. She throws 25-foot passes on the money, with either hand in transition, she also scores off the dribble with either hand, after contact. Her quick release and speaking of 25 feet, is where she can drop it, also from midrange
