There were several players that have already created a buzz for themselves this summer, but there were also a few who used the event to grab the spotlight. Here are the best shooters from the event.
Makayla really had it going during the event and made it clear that she is a high-level playmaker. There are many positives to her game but it is her shot-making ability that separates her the most. She shot it very efficiently both inside and outside of the arc. She possesses great length at the guard position and really elevates during her jump shot and paired with a high release. She did very well on the spot up jumpers and pulling up off of the bounce. It was fun to watch her play because she really made it look fun. An up-and-coming star in Georgia high school basketball.
Highlights
A strong guard that has a ton of skill in her game. Her ability to get out of dribble moves into her jump shot with explosion and balance was impressive. She is a knockdown catch and shoot threat but has a balanced offensive attack because she is a capable ball-handler and knows how to create separation from defenders. She is not the fastest player but has good quickness and uses changes in speed to keep defenders off balance.
Emily was arguably the best shooter at the event when looking at consistency. She knocked down jumpers from everywhere on the floor. She played very well off the ball and moved with the ball staying visible for drivers penetrating. Her mechanics are solid and getting into her shot off of the catch took no time at all. Multiple coaches could be heard yelling “get the shooter” whenever she was left open on the perimeter in transition. She is a floor spacer.
Laura picked her spots very well in both games that I watched her. She looked good as a spot-up shooter in the first of two games but it was her second game that she showed everything she brings to the floor. She was much more aggressive when looking to create for herself and it served her well. She has a quick release and knocked down a few that were pretty well defended.

Tracy has a bright future. Although this was a freshman event, Tracy took the chance as a player from the class of 2028 and I’m glad she did. Tracy has a really smooth game. She looks very comfortable with the ball in her hands. She did very well when reading defenders to finish at the rim in traffic. She has a good bounce in her game and an IQ that shows in every aspect of the game. When defenders stopped short on the closeouts there was no hesitation. She ran extremely well in transition and consistently beat the defense to the deep corner for open looks at the rim. She is still two years out but you can anticipate hearing her name often, soon.
