Darrionna Howard Darrionna Howard 6’1″ | PF Clayton | 2023 State NC (featured photo) uses every bit of her 6 foot frame to be dominant on all areas of the court. She can body anyone in the paint on her way to some points or rebounds. She is a three level scorer seeing the floor well in order to make the best play for her team whether she is taking it all the way to the hoop, or she is setting herself up for a jump shot. On defense, she is tough to score against with her shot blocking ability. She recently announced her top five schools: UNC-Charlotte, East Carolina, James Madison, Delaware, and Howard.
Highlights
Madisyn Jordan Madisyn Jordan 6’0″ | SG Panther Creek | 2023 State NC is fantastic when it comes to catching a pass and putting up her shot from behind the arc. She is certainly going to make most of her shots, and she doesn’t need much time at all to get set up as she shows off her quick release. She can handle the ball well changing directions with speed to get around her opponents, especially on fast breaks. She can finish easily on both sides of the basket, and contact does not derail her at all. Her length is an asset when it comes to grabbing rebounds, too.
Corrie McLaughlin Corrie McLaughlin 6’1″ | SF Millbrook | 2023 State NC has been seeing several offers come her way this year from schools like Winthrop, Marshall, and Appalachian State. Her footwork is great in the post using spin moves to get around her opponents on her way to two points. She handles the ball well, too, making her a threat all over the court where she can drive to the basket herself creating separation on her way. Her shot from deep is there, and she can certainly crash the boards to get rebounds.
Alondra Arroyo Alondra Arroyo 6’1″ | PF Holly Springs | 2023 State NC can guard many different positions with her quickness and her height. She protects the rim blocking shots, and she can keep any guard in front of her with her quickness laterally. She attacks the basket on the other end of the court embracing contact and using it to her advantage to score and finish from the free throw line. She can certainly finish on both sides of the paint. She’s a tenacious rebounder as well.
Amira Ofunniyin Amira Ofunniyin 6’0″ | SF Panther Creek | 2023 State NC is another one who can guard any position on the court. She cleans up the glass on the offensive side of the ball, and she can easily score no matter how she gets the ball. Back to the basket? No problem. Cutting hard down the paint? No problem. You get the picture. She does an excellent job reading her defenders knowing the best way to score her points. Her athleticism is on display with the way she can run the court and constantly moves on offense to shift the defense around.
