Woolston will be a name to keep an eye on, as she is playing up with the 16u Premier EYBL group as an incoming freshman. The shooting guard proved she can score from all over the floor at roughly 5’11. What stands out with Woolston is her footwork leading into jump shots. She proved to be capable running off curls into shots or stepping into a pullup from NCAA range. Simply put, there are few athletes her age with that level of shooting touch.
Damara Allen Damara Allen 5'10" | SG Cherokee Trail | 2024 State CO – Cherokee Trail – 2024
Standing roughly 5’10, Allen is a multipositional defender who has been steadily improving as a shooter. Allen proved to be an elite off-ball defender who stayed aggressive attacking passing lanes, grabbing 4+ steals on ten separate occassions with Cherokee Trail. She is capable matching up with at least three positions, along with some power forwards. Once grabbing those steals, Allen is assertive finding open teammates while the defense is still scrambling. She utilized live dribble passing with both hands, either in the fullcourt or halfcourt. The key with this upcoming season revolves around her shot selection and bringing up her shooting efficiency. That being said, Allen still ranks sixth in her class and first among combo guards.
Coryn Watts Coryn Watts 5'8" | CG Regis Jesuit | 2024 State CO – Regis Jesuit – 2024
Watts will be playing a major role for Regis Jesuit, as their lead ballhandler and primary creator with the exit of senior Madden McHugh, who previously led them in assists per game. Standing roughly 5’9, Watts has the whole package as a lead guard. She utilizes crossovers, behind the back moves, and subtle hesitations to lull the defense to sleep. As a sophomore, Watts contributed 14 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.7 steals on 36% from beyond the arc. She is nothing short of a potent shooter, where just over 59% of her shot attempts at Regis Jesuit came from distance. Inside the arc, Watts stays crafty off the bounce where she is capable using off-balance floaters and high arcing layups to finish around size. Watts is currently ranked 47th overall and 4th among point guard prospects.
Nia McKenzie Nia McKenzie 5'11" | SG Eaglecrest | 2023 State CO – Eaglecrest – 2023
McKenzie is a tough matchup on both ends thanks to her defensive awareness and craftiness finishing within the arc. Standing roughly 6′ tall, the small forward is strong finisher in the paint versus contact, particularly with the right hand. She does well using gather steps along with up and under moves to get the opponents flying the wrong direction. Out on the perimeter, the senior wing stays patient using her pivot foot to lure defenders out past the the three point line. This past season at Eaglecrest, McKenzie averaged 11.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.5 steals. The 2023 standout currently lands as the fifth player overall and top small forward in the 2023 class.
Penley Park Penley Park 5'10" | CG Fort Collins | 2024 State CO – Fort Collins – 2024
Standing roughly 5’10, Park is an intriguing two-way threat at the combo guard spot. She is more than capable hitting jumpers off the catch or using her shooting gravity to cut off the ball with greater spacing. Arguably her highest upside trait stems from her defensive motor, where she is poised to attack passing lanes.
