We released an updated rankings for the class of 2023 last week. Here is a look at some of the biggest movers inside the top 25 for the class of 2023!
Chloe Kitts Chloe Kitts 6'2" | SF Faith Christian Academy | 2022 FL (Faith Christian Academy / Southeast All Stars) – 6’2 Wing
New Ranking: 1
Previous Ranking: 2
Kitts moves up one spot. The versatile 6’2 wing was all over the exposure circuit this summer with the newly formed Southeast All Stars as well as made the USA squad. She can play all 5 positions on the court, is extremely skilled and continues to improve every time we see her. She has narrowed down her college list to a top 6 (Louisville, Duke, N.C. State, Stanford, Arizona, and Oklahoma) and is a major college prospect who comes in at # 1 in the class of 2023 (after holding the # 2 spot previously) heading into her Senior season!
Khyala Ngodu Khyala Ngodu 6'2" | PF Dillard | 2023 State FL (Dillard / Miami Suns) – 6’2 Forward
New Ranking: 7
Previous Ranking: 9
Ngodu was extremely consistent on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor all spring and summer for the Miami Suns. The 6’2 Forward showcased an inside / out skill set putting up consistent stats as a scorer, rebounder and shot blocker. She skyrocketed onto the exposure scene and has picked up 30+ D1 college offers since April and is one of the top available post prospects in the country! She moves up 2 spots and comes in at # 7 overall in the class of 2023.
Fantasia James Fantasia James 5'10" | SF Oakleaf | 2023 State FL (Oakleaf / FGB) – 5’10 Wing
New Ranking: 14
Previous Ranking: 16
Quick! Athletic! Versatile! Scorer! These are all words that come to mind watching James. In a state full of athletes, James is at the top of the list. The 5’10 wing was impressive all spring / summer for FGB and verbally committed to FIU after receiving a number of division one offers. She moves up 2 spots and comes in at # 14 for the class of 2023!
Cori Allen Cori Allen 5'10" | SG Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL (Montverde Academy / TN Flight) – 5’10 Guard
New Ranking: 16
Previous Ranking: 17
Allen attends Montverde Academy in Florida during the school year and plays with TN Flight during the summer as she hails from the state of Tennessee. Allen has a strong, solid build and is a consistent performer on the offensive end. She does not excel at any one skill set but her all-around game is very well rounded, and she uses her body and strength well. Allen moves up 1 spot to # 16 in the class of 2023.
Alonya Waldon Alonya Waldon 5'5" | CG Palm Bay Magnet | 2023 State FL (Palm Bay / East Coast United) – 5’5 Guard
New Ranking: 21
Previous Ranking: 25
Without a doubt, Waldon was one of my favorite players to watch this summer. She ran the PG position for ECU all summer, handling the ball like she had the rock on a string. She handled full court and half court pressure with confidence of a true point guard and floor leader. She has a high basketball IQ, is a good passer with great court vision, she distributes the ball to scorers in scoring position and she is a high percentage outside shooter that finds opportunities to score for herself. Waldon moves up 4 spots and comes in at # 21 overall in the class of 2023!
Kaylah Turner Kaylah Turner 5'5" | PG Oakleaf | 2023 State FL (Oakleaf / FGB) – 5’5 Guard
New Ranking: 23
Previous Ranking: 24
Turner is part of the Oakleaf / FGB dynamic duo alongside Fantasia James Fantasia James 5'10" | SF Oakleaf | 2023 State FL . Do not let Turner 5’5 size fool you; she is quick, athletic, aggressive and explosive. She attacks the rim off the dribble in both the half court and full court, showcasing a great first step and solid open court and 1v1 moves off the bounce. Once in the paint, she is high flying, scoring up at the rim and showcasing several finishing moves. Turner moves up 1 spot and comes in at # 23!
Tyra Kennedy Tyra Kennedy 5'6" | CG Brooks DeBartolo | 2023 State FL (Brooks DeBartolo / Miami Suns)
New Ranking: 24
Previous Ranking: 26
Consistent! 2 Way Player! High percentage shooter! Team player! Unselfish! These are the words that come to mind when watching Kennedy. She is in a unique class where in a day and age where not many players are too interested in getting down in a defensive stance and guarding people, Kennedy strongest attribute might be her on ball defensive ability. She is not afraid to pick up opposing point guards in the full court and applies aggressive pressure both in the full and the half court. On the offensive end, she has a well-rounded skill set and is a high percentage 3 point shooter. She breaks the top 25 and comes in at # 24 in the class of 2023 rankings!
