Well, since the portal has been overloaded with the help of liars and those with agendas, I have even received calls after it has started. Before you say “but Mr. Real Evaluator all of these players are not 6’0”, well I’m glad you’re paying attention to something because I get calls for those who play as if they are, so here ya go
Erin Love Erin Love 6'0" | PF Bellaire | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF (Bellaire) 2023
Love has been a battler since day 1 and that initial sighting which left a lasting impression of her being in that exclusive “you won’t outwork me” group. She never backs down from a challenge, she has shut down players 4 or 5 inches taller, that speaks volumes about her DESIRE yet that same desire to get better shows as she has progressed every season. She went after everything off the rim, gabe me a highly;right block as well as several highlight finishes
Madison Bailey Madison Bailey 6'1" Queen City | 2023 TX -6’1 C (Queen City) 2023
Bailey is long and athletic, I wrote 6’2 because that was intangible to go along with the base. Although my eyesight isn’t 20/20, I was an inch off, I git the game right. First of all, her “hands and footwork”, told you in a previous article I wasn’t done with that, so let me drop the hashtag #THROWBACK. That is also fitting because she has very good timing and threw a lot of shots back when challenged. She rebounded strongly on both ends, finished around the rim and has plenty of upside , which is scary
Jada Griffin Jada Griffin 6'0" Lake Highlands | 2024 TX -6’0 PF (Lake Lands) 2024
Griffin is also “long and athletic” again that is the b ase so what are her intangibles. Well she attacks off the dribble, her first step coupled with long strides got her there numerous times. Her frame is college ready, she can give it and she can take it but watching her intensity around the rim as she battled for everything off the rim, on both ends, had me smiling. She also showed good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots, she runs the floor and she too has some scary upside
Taylor Wilson Taylor Wilson 5'10" | SF Copperas Cove | 2024 State TX -5’10 SF (Copperas Cove) 2024
Wilson showed me a lot over the club season with her club team, Stay Ready, on the PGH Circuit. Fast forward to the event, she showed me even more and her mixing it up with the taller players was epic. She’s strong, she elevates quickly and she has good body control, which enables her to not only rebound but finish around the basket after contact. She’s heady, understands positioning and scored b both off the dribble and by using the midrange
Dana Ramoni Dana Ramoni 5'11" | PF Northwest | 2026 TX -5’11 SF (Northwest) 2026
Ramoni is only a freshman, yet I only found that out after coming home and looking at the roster, I usually don’t pay attention during events, I don’t want to miss the action and action she brought. She too is “long and athletic” but her defense, inside and outside the paint was nice, especially when you factor in she playing against seasoned players, “it’s not what you do it’s who you do it against”. She rebounded on both ends, she scored off the dribble and she played the passing lane
