Give a good hand for the girls we believe are defensive geniuses and how they interact with their teams on the defensive side of the ball.
Nina Cain Nina Cain 6'1" | PF McClatchey | 2025 State CA , 6’1, PF, McClatchey HS – Nina is a force on the floor, she is capable of blocking shots with great efficiency and she does it on occasion. She has long arms and soft hands, she has great timing to block her opponents, she may even chase you down to block a shot if you make her. We love her tenacity on the floor and she is a leader out there as well, she makes plays for her team and and can even create deflections in the press.
Paige Worthem Paige Worthem 6'1" | C El Capitan | 2025 State CA , 6’1, C, El Capitan HS – Paige is huge, she looks bigger than she is listed, she plays like a 6’4 post and has soft hands and good footwork, I happen to know the guys working with her, she is in great hands. She can catch inside and score, but she is long and lanky and will block your shot at any waking moment on the floor. She creates problems for girls in the post, cause most of the time she is sending it back into the stands.
Layla Harris Layla Harris 6'3" | C Etiwanda | 2025 State CA , 6’3, C, Etiwanda HS – Layla has a nice body type, she is big and solid, she has a nice post body that is ready to compete with anyone in high school ranks, she will be college ready in a few years. She can run the floor, block shots and create deflections, she is a bruiser in the paint with some soft hands to boot, she can seal and finish over each shoulder. Her shot blocking skills are developing, but she is definitely a shot block candidate, cause we saw her throw some back into the stands when a girl tried to score on her.
Sydnee Norwood Sydnee Norwood 5'11" | SF Crean Lutheran | 2025 State CA , 6’0, SF, Crean Lutheran HS – Sydnee is another shot blocking candidate that we would like to recognize, we watched her play this past season and she was more than capable of shot blocking, cause we witnessed it. She has long arms for a post of her size, but she is agile and able to time shots for easy blocks and make plays for other teammates. She is also the rebounding machines for her team, this aides in her shot blocking abilities we think.
