Working down to announcing the first team I am starting off with the all-event Third Team. Congratulations to the six selected to the team.
Sariyah Williams Sariyah Williams 6'1" | C Olathe North | 2023 State KS , 6’1″, PF, Olathe North (KS), 2023 – If there was a major event for a player recovering from injury to test where she is this was it. Playing heavy minutes in all four games matched up with a wide variety of post players Williams passed with flying colors. Williams has a big frame to play power forward and center positions. As she continues to hone her speed and quickness her on-display skills will shine on a regular basis. Williams has great hands, scores well and creatively around the basket, and is a perimeter threat. Her block game on both sides was evident but she did not show the its depth. I am quite confident that it is there. She showed good footwork to score on both blocks but also to get a step from elbow range to slice by other bigs for lay-ins. Williams is a high potential player still on the recovery road that performed consistently well.
Maddie Gragg, 6’0″, SF/PF, Topeka Seaman (KS), 2026 – Gragg had a slow start to the day but by early game two she had found her grove. By the end of the day she let be known that she is one of the top ’26s in the state for good reason. Long, active on both ends, and fast she first garnered attention at this event a year ago with her three point shooting. While I would like to see her fill transition lanes better, with her game caliber that is something that will come sooner than later. She played physically on both ends of the floor, showed solid hops, and used her length to big advantage rebounding and defending off the ball. Gragg can run but with the ball she was unbelievably fast. And she finished at speed while absorbing contact.
Addie Hotchkiss Addie Hotchkiss 5'8" | SG Staley | 2024 State MO , Staley (MO), 5’7″, CG, 2024 – Hotchkiss earned a spot on the all-event defensive team. She has great feet, solid balance, and good speed and quickness. She is also fast, transitions well both ways, and has handles to get to the hoop with speed. A strong defender with a solid, all-around game.
Skyte Wilson Skyte Wilson 5'3" Clinton | 2025 MO , 5’3″, PG, Clinton (MO), 2025 – Unafraid of going into the trees the quick, fast, Wilson is an aggressive player. While she will force things a little often and needs to improve her perimeter shooting, what earned her third team honors was that she was an impact player on both ends of the floor. She lead the break with her head up and attacked the basket with athleticism when looking to score.
Keimara Marshall Keimara Marshall 5'3" | PG Topeka | 2026 State KS , 5’3″, PG, Topeka (KS), 2026 – It took me a while to collect all the things Marshall does on the floor. A slight, quick, athletic player Marshall did not generate a lot of attention on the floor on both ends until she did things like punish a disrespecting defender by burying a 20′ three ball, timing a strip of a fast big coming at her in transition one-on-one to score, or using her length and quick hands to tap a ball away to generate a turnover. She showed good hops as well. Definitely a player landing on the Kansas 2026 class watch list when it comes out in a couple weeks.
Gabby Rose, 5’6″, SG, Liberty North (MO), 2024 – I enjoyed watching Rose do a variety of things most of field did not. Among those was making an athletic drive from the short corner to get a good look; work the baseline drive off the ball-fake; and hitting a teammate on the button with a strong two-handed, cross court pass in transition to get a layup. She also made a terrific right-hand scoop shot on the left-side of the basket in transition to prevent a fast, long, opposing big from blocking her shot – which would have happened had she gone up with her normal left. Rose competed hard all day and showed good speed and quickness throughout.
