Pretty soon, girls around the state will be unleashed to practice as they get ready for this season’s high school campaign. What’s really exciting is that the newbies on the block, I’m talking about the incoming freshman, will be ready to lace ‘em up and compete for some significant minutes.
The ‘26 class is a special class. This state has been blessed with talent in women’s hoops for a while, but the ‘26 class will definitely add their mark on an impressive tradition. You’ve got the 5 star girls, along with some solid role players that will help add value in trying to win that gold ball come March. From far west Tennessee to far east Tennessee, and everything in between, this state has some ‘26 girls who can flat out play.
With the rankings dropping last week, you were given just a few of the names that are ready to embark on a solid playing career. As they get ready to take the court this year, stay tuned because more names will definitely be in the mix for years to come. With that being said, here are some Newbies who are currently ahead of the class.
Meeyah Green Meeyah Green 5'9" | CG Webb-Knoxville | 2026 State TN (5’8/CG/Webb-Knoxville)– Special talent that is loaded with an arsenal of moves. Two way player who can score on all 3 levels. Shifty, exceptional speed, nice handles, and such a high basketball IQ, this young lady will be tough to deal with for years to come. Hard working gym rat who can just get it done. Blessed beyond measure, she’s a star in the making. Keep your eyes out on this young lady because she is a big deal and will be one of the next great guards to come from the state of Tennessee.
Kimora Fields Kimora Fields 6'0" | PF Bradley Central | 2026 State TN (6’0/PF/Bradley Central)– Young stud who can flat out play. From knocking down shots, being a bully in the paint, to creating havoc on D, this kid is a monster. Highly-touted girl who loves the game with a passion. Plays with relentless energy and possesses so many strengths at such a young age. Not a finished product, but look for her to continue to grow as she steps into and plays intrical minutes for a successful Bradley Central program.
Faye Williams Faye Williams 6'3" | PF Bartlett | 2026 State TN (6’3/SF/Bartlett)– Big guard who will be a force throughout her HS career. She will come in and make an immediate impact right away. Can handle the rock, shoot the outside jumper, and can create mismatches inside around the block. Smart player who knows how to use her body. Look for her to be a problem on D as she can block shots, control the boards, and clog up passing lanes. Keep an eye on this young lady as she will be the next up and coming star out of a great Barlett program.
Maliyah Glaspar Maliyah Glaspar 5'5" | PG Gatlinburg-Pittman | 2026 State TN (5’5/PG/Gatlinberg-Pittman)– True floor general who can handle the rock. Has the ability to attack down hill and separate from her defender, creating open shots for her teammates or knocking down shots for herself. Can unleash it from beyond the arc or in the paint.Multi-level scoring threat who shows so much poise and consistency at such a young age. Don’t let her height fool you as she is a “go-getter”and is willing to compete whenever and wherever.

(5’7/CG/Bearden)– A huge ball of energy, this kid is always in “go mode.” Speedy threat who can get to the rim, knock down shots from beyond the arc, and plays lockdown D. She’s gonna get after it for 32 minutes giving you all she’s got. Look for her to step in and find a role where she provides an extra spark to the Bearden attack. Her game and energy is infectious, she will be a force for years to come.

(6’3/C/Brentwood)– Big dominant post who anchors the middle. Offensively can dominate the painted area unleashing back to the basket moves. Has great awareness and stays on the boards getting second chance opportunities for her club. A huge presence on D where she blocks shots and controls the boards. Look for her to continue to be a problem the more court time she gets.
