Over the past week, we’ve seen a number of players commit, take official and unofficial visits and receive offers from schools. Here’s a quick update around the Garden State on the recruitment and commitment front.
Of players who have taken unofficial or official school visits recently, there have been a few. Abby Misier Abby Misier 6'4" | C Highstown | 2024 State NJ , a 6-4 center from Hightstown, went on an unofficial visit to Saint Francis University over the weekend.
Misier is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 class based off her height alone, but her skillset is great and her court presence in the middle has been well-documented.
We also saw the dynamic twin duo from Morris Catholic, Mia and Mya Paulo, take an unofficial visit to Penn State in recent days.
The 2025 guards are two of the best prospects in New Jersey, top prospects in the 2025 class both in-state and nationwide, and have received a plethora of Division 1 offers already. Heading into their sophomore year, the Pauldo sisters will continue to be a problem in New Jersey.
Te’Yala Delfosse Te’Yala Delfosse 6'2" | SF Ewing | 2024 State NJ , a 2024 guard out of Ewing, not only visited UMass in the past week, but received an offer from the Minutewomen during her visit.
After Camden Catholic guard Aaryn Battle Aaryn Battle 5'8" | SF Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ ‘s commitment to play for UMass earlier in October, Delfosse follows as the second New Jersey/UMass related high school girls basketball news of the month. Delfosse has been spectacular with the Blue Devils and has shown to be one of the more all-around complete prospects in the 2024 class.
We’ve seen two other players receive offers in recent days, starting out with another Morris Catholic guard in Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ , who received an offer from Pitt on October 19.
Matus is a top-3 prospect in the 2025 class in New Jersey and is one of the more dynamic talents we’ve seen at the high school level and her career is really just beginning. That 5-10 frame suits her perfectly as she’s already one of the top shooters in her class and across the entire state.
Our other official offer comes from Paul VI 2024 guard Shariah Baynes Shariah Baynes 5'6" | SG Paul VI | 2024 State NJ , who received an offer from Monmouth on Sunday.
This is her sixth Division I offer and first from a school in New Jersey. It’s well-deserved for the junior, who really made headway not from her high school performances, but what’s she accomplished over the summer during AAU ball. Baynes impressed with a heightened skillset of a guard who can do it all on the floor.
Now, we move onto our recent commits in the Garden State, beginning with Sparta point guard Ally Sweeney Ally Sweeney 5'8" | SG Sparta | 2023 State NJ , one of two fantastic pieces of their state championship winning team and the newest commit to Richmond.
What more can be said about a state-championship winning guard other than a flat-out baller with some of the best hands we’ve seen in New Jersey and one of the best passers around. We talk about triple-double threats often and Sweeney is very much one, just an incredible talent, a great scorer, great shooter, just a great everything.
From Sweeney, we move to East Brunswick 2023 small forward Tamea El Tamea El SF East Brunswick | 2023 State NJ , who announced her commitment to play at Goldey-Beacom on Saturday.
El really burst onto the scene as a junior, showing up and showing out for the Bears with near double-double numbers, essentially doubling her production in a season. On top of that, the AAU season has really been her time to shine and develop more, something she’s gotten plenty of opportunities too with the AUF Lady Hawks. We’re eagerly awaiting her senior season to begin.
Our last commitment to mention in this article is Immaculate Montclair 2023 guard Tyonna Bailey Tyonna Bailey 5'10" | CG Montclair Immaculate | 2023 State NJ , who announced on Twitter her commitment to play for St. John’s.
Bailey has been spectacular so far in an Immaculate Montclair uniform and playing very much near the bright lights of New York City already, she’s primed for a big career in the Big East. A great scorer and great shooter, you can pencil Bailey in for a near-20-point scoring average this season, her senior season with the Lions.
