September and October has been filled with opportunities to participate in individual showcases all across Florida. SUTS Report and Jr. All Stars got together to put on The Best of Florida in late September in Miami. With over 100 players in attendance, here are six standouts.
Class of 2024
Emely Rodriguez
Was arguably the most talented player in the gym, at 6’0 she is an elite 2 way player that has a nonstop motor. She got to the rim with ease, knocked down the 3 ball, and was relentless on defense.
Mya Johnson
Has really improved since the start of the travel season in the spring, at 6’2 she has a strong frame and developing offensive game. She rebounds really well & is a strong presence near the rim on defense. She should have a strong high school season on a good St. Thomas Aquinas team.
Class of 2025
Super athlete with a growing skill set to match. She is long + athletic and plays under control with a high motor. She rebounds, defends, and has shown flashes of a developing offensive game. High upside player!
Has continued to develop her game, showed an improved jump shot and is knocking down the jumper with ease. She has the athleticism, frame, and skill to be a high level player.
Class of 2026
Lailani Washington Lailani Washington 5'5" | PG LR Johnson | 2026 State FL
Was one of the more impressive players in the gym, she has a quick/explosive first step & a motor to match. She is definitely a player to watching going forward in the ℅ 26.
Karolina Ramirez Karolina Ramirez 5'6" | PG The Benjamin | 2026 State FL
Ramirez has been one of the more skilled players in her class since her early middle school years. She has stretched out into her body & has continued to improve her game. Her ball handling, craftiness & finishing ability at the rim is impressive.
