Continue ReadingIt’s been just over a week since our last recruiting update in New Jersey, so it’s about time to get back at it and talk about some recent commitments, offers and signings we’ve seen across the Garden State. We also wanted to go back and talk about the commitment of a player back in October that we failed to talk about on social media, but deserves all the praise and then some.
We begin with college commitments and Randolph High School guard Madison Jenisch Madison Jenisch 5'8" | PG Randolph | 2023 State NJ , who announced on Nov. 17, via Twitter, her commitment to play for the University of Mary Washington.
The 5-8 Jenisch had her best season by far as a junior for Randolph, averaging just over seven points a game in 28 games played. She made significant strides on the high school circuit, but her play with Team Sharp on the AAU circuit is what got her some attention from colleges. She’s a rising talent and the 2023 prospect is poised to have her best season by far coming up this winter.
Our player that we didn’t talk about from October who also committed was New Providence guard Meghan Lamanna Meghan Lamanna SG New Providence | 2023 State NJ , who will be playing at the University of Scranton.
A fantastic player all-around, Lamanna averaged 14.9 points per game last season and excelled inside the perimeter as well as from beyond the arc. She knocked down 35 threes in 29 games, down from her production levels as a freshman, but her inside game has improved tremendously since that point. Why shoot lower-percentage shots when you can take more high-percentage shots in better scoring positions.
Looking at recent college offers, Immaculata guard Gianna Guzman Gianna Guzman 5'7" | PG Immaculata | 2023 State NJ received an offer from SUNY Ulster, announced on her Twitter on Nov. 17.
Guzman, formerly at Mater Dei Prep, didn’t play her sophomore year, but came back strong as a junior, shooting the ball well from beyond the arc while showing intent to make plays in the lane. Her biggest obstacle right now is assimilating into a new environment at Immaculata, but this 2023 guard has shown us plenty during the AAU season and should be an exciting watch this winter.
The last player we’ll be talking about in this article has to do with an official visit. Newark Central forward Faith-Fedd Robinson took an official visit to Rhode Island recently, taking photos which she put up on her Twitter on Nov. 16.
You’ve hard us talk about her numerous times and for good reason because she’s one of the most exciting prospects in the 2024 class in New Jersey and overall in the state. Posting video game-like numbers in the blocks and steals department, averaging 6.0 SPG and BPG last season, she’s a bonafide superstar and is only a junior. Is a quadruple-double average in her sights next season? Possibly.
